Personalised Cartoons from Cartoonely – Review

Who are Cartoonely?
Cartoonely offers the world’s largest marketplace for custom artwork and digital artwork. They have been established in France for a number of years now, but have just decided to enter the UK market.
Offering a range of digital art styles from anime to cartoons, as well as a choice of movie and TV styles. The choice of design really is at your fingertips. Cartoonley work by putting both humans and animals into the picture.
Once you have decided on your artwork style, you can then choose from a range of product options. From having it sent as a digital download, to a number of physical print choices such as canvases, posters or even mugs.
You might be wondering who exactly creates the art? Well, Cartoonely has a host of artists who will work on creating a masterpiece specifically for you.
Custom Cartoon Pet Portrait
I actually thought Ash might like an anime portrait but he said no. So instead I sent them one of my favourite pictures of Sally to get my own picture from their cartoon pet portraits section.
A few days after sending over my favourite picture of Sally wearing a crown. I received a proof copy of the artist’s work. Which I must say did make me smile, especially on a bad day.
I like being able to experience various styles of artwork. While it is especially interesting to see how different artists create and work with the subject.
After I OK’d the digital artwork it was then sent to me as a framed poster print.
Personally, I was impressed by the turnaround time (which is clearly displayed on each item) as well as the quality of the poster and frame. It was also well-packaged for delivery and easy to hang on the wall. (So many times I’ve been sent frames with hard-to-use hooks).
As my poster was ordered directly from the company rather than on the website, I did decide to quickly go through their process of personalising the item without ordering and I have to say it is really simple.
You also have a lot of options when it comes to personalisation, including background, names, and items. At the end, you get the option to fully brief your illustrator as well, with any special requests. They also keep you updated with a running total on costs, so you won’t suddenly be surprised.
Final Thoughts
This is such a fun service, that I really think will make for a great present idea, especially with Christmas coming up on us! The abstract pet portraits in particular get a huge thumbs up from me!
