Pamper Yourself – 4 Budget-Friendly Ideas
Beauty experts often spend a lot less than you’d expect on everything from makeup to bath bombs because they know how to find deals and get the most out of their beauty regime.
This means you don’t have to spend a fortune to pamper yourself. Here are four budget-friendly ideas for pampering yourself.
We’ll include something for everyone, no matter how much you want to indulge yourself or what beauty regime you follow.
Check the Cupboards Before You Buy Anything.

Before you assume you have to spend a fortune on beauty products, break out the recipes for ‘do it yourself’ products and look in the kitchen cupboards.
For example, you can make your own body scrub from baking soda. It is cheaper than the facial scrub you might be using, and you probably already have it on hand.
You can add a spoonful or two of baking soda to any skin cleanser to turn it into a micro-exfoliating scrub, too.
Just be sure to rinse it off well and apply moisturisers so it doesn’t dry out your skin.
If you need a refreshing face mask and can’t find a free sample, try making your own with aluminium foil. Cut out an eye and nose holes from the aluminium foil.
Place the aluminium sheet in the freezer. Once frozen, remove and press it on your face for ten minutes.
This will reduce puffiness, tighten pores and help after hangovers.
If you have chapped lips, red lipstick is going to make it look worse.
However, you can mix raw cane sugar with honey to create a sealed layer on your lips.
Then apply lip balm. Once your lips are moisturized by this combination, apply your red lipstick.
Hit the Freebie and Coupon Sites.
Coupons may let you save anywhere from 10 to 50 per cent on something you want to buy.
This may allow you to afford those indulgences that are otherwise outside of your budget. More importantly, you might get free samples of new products from these sites.
It is hard to believe some of these are free like branded beauty kits, hand balm, face masks and skin moisturisers.
If you make use of freebies and coupons, you won’t have to buy coffee filters as a cheaper alternative to oil blotting papers.
Make Your Own.

You could save money on beauty treatments by making your own alternatives.
For example, you could grab a travel bottle and your favourite face moisturiser.
Mix one part foundation with two to four parts of moisturizer and mix it in the travel bottle. Shake well. Then apply it to the skin.
This is cheaper than buying a tinted moisturiser, and it will already match your skin tone. The moisturiser in the mix will make the foundation coverage much more forgiving, too.
If you love winged eyeliner, but can’t afford the tools for it, use tape to get the same look. Put the tape on the outside of your lower lash line. This will serve as a guide for the perfect wing.
If you like a matte lipstick, but can’t afford it, you can create the same look with a concealer that matches your skin tone and your favourite lipstick.
Put a little concealer on your lips, let it set, and follow with an application of your favourite lipstick. You’ll save money over buying the matte lipstick, and you won’t suffer the drying out that conventional matte lipsticks can cause.
Instead of buying dry shampoo, use baby powder. It will absorb excess oil in your hair and add volume. However, you want to use just a little, since residue powder looks terrible.
Take Care of Your Beauty Tools

Take care of beauty tools like blenders, brushes and liners.
They’ll perform better if you clean them regularly, and then you don’t have to replace them. However, you don’t have to buy expensive, specialised brush cleaners. Instead, use water, Dawn dish soap and water.
Add a few drops of dish soap to the water, rinse the brushes under water, wash in a soapy water mix, and then rinse.
For beauty sponges, add the dish soap to the sponge, soak in warm water, then rinse thoroughly.
Conclusion
Whether you fix beauty products that you’d otherwise throw away, or make your own beauty products as good as the name brand products, you could save a fortune on beauty and health products. And you could find free samples or discounts that save you money, as well.
