November 17 – Life in a Lockdown #33
I don’t know really where to start this week – it feels a little like time has stopped again. I know days have passed, I know things have happened in the outside world, however not much has happened in here.
Of course, it will have been my birthday the day before this goes live. (I’m writing at the weekend so I can have a bit of a rest on Monday, as I still have my bipolar course too do.)
We are still in Lockdown 2 which of course probably leads to much of how I am feeling.
There was news of a vaccine which is showing that it might have a 90% efficiency rate. It’s hopeful but although some new stations like to shout about it being ready by next month. It is more likely to be a lot longer.
On With The Linky!
Starting off I must say a huge thank you to Bex from Futures for joining me each week as my co-host and of course Jenni at Lyrical Host (affiliate link) for kickstarting the idea!
If you would like to take part, it’s simple:
We ask that you give both Bex and I a link back in your post, as hosts of the linkup and you can copy the questions below.
After that; all you need to do is pop back to mine or Bex’s post and add your link in the inlinkz.
1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
3) What do you think the coming weeks and months might hold for you (or the world)?
4) If you could remind yourself something about this time in years to come what would it be?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from as mall business.
6) What is a unique (or not) technique you have used to get you through this time?
7) What is something your readers might not know about you?
8) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

So what did week 33 hold:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
To be honest, at the moment I’m just numb, that’s not to say my anxiety doesn’t kick in at times. However a lot of the time I feel numb. It sometimes happens when I become overwhelmed. I either feel everything all at once and can’t cope, or I feel nothing. Which I can cope with better, but isn’t really healthy.
We found a local pharmacy delivery service (thanks to my Dad) who we had our meds delivered from for the first time last week and they need a big thumbs up. They offer refrigerated deliveries AND they have me a number of months upfront of my anti-depressants so I won’t have to change brands every 28 days and get a load of side effects. So I guess that’s a plus on the coping side.
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
Blogging and entering competitions was all I did last week really while watching TV or streaming something or other. In the middle of watching The Haunting of Bly Manor at the moment. So far I’m liking it more than The Haunting of Hill House, however, I did much rather the book of that one.
3) What do you think the coming weeks and months might hold for you (or the world)?
I’m just hoping things get better, I do wonder if we will get a bit of a reprieve after lockdown and then after Christmas / New Year we will be hit by a new serge and a new lockdown.
4) If you could remind yourself something about this time in years to come what would it be?
Family and friends mean the world – even when you can’t see each other, there are ways to stay feeling close to one another.
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.
Nothing exciting a squeegee broom for the bathroom, in the hope that we can push the excess water down the drain a little. Helping the floor dry quicker.
I did order some cookies and brownies on a Facebook market night over the weekend and I’m looking forward to those turning up.
6) What is a unique (or not) technique you have used to get you through this time?
I’ve found that fidget toys help me – hopefully, this is something I can use going forward.
7) What is something your readers might not know about you?
When I was growing up I wanted to be an archaeologist, from a very young age into my teens, that was my dream.
8) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
TikTok – I’ve been struggling sleeping more and more so it has been keeping me occupied, as I can’t read now like I used to.

I would say the positive thing come out of lockdown is that I appreciate what I have around me like family and surroundings
Definitely, I think it has made us realise that we do rely on being able to be around humans more than we realise.
It really is looking positive with the vaccine, and though I still think we are a while away from it being used for the general public it is so wonderful that it is so effective.
I am so grateful for technology, as it gives us the chance to stay in touch with family, it would have been so much more difficult if we didn’t have access to it.
It is amazing how quickly it has all happened with the vaccine for sure!
I love that you have found something that can help you in some way and that you will continue to use.
Definitely, it has made a difference and helps ground me a little I think.
I feel torn about the virus and how it affects me right now. I am especially worried that school will have to go back to being online only.
I have seen a lot of people calling for schools to stop going in.
I’m glad you found TikTok and it is helping you deal with some of this stress. That is great news about getting your medications ahead of time! Many of my loved ones are on different medications and I worry that some of them will be delayed in the future. It would give them peace of mind to have the medication ahead of time.
I’ve had such issues getting meds in the past it is really nice knowing there will be some already ordered for me with the pharmacist I just need to order them.
I understand how you feel about the second lockdown and it seems like where I live many people are up and about, my local fish and chips shop is open although they only let 2 people in at once. I am pleased about the news of the vaccine and hopeful that it will bring some sanity back to the travel industry.
It is strange, isn’t it? It’s almost like nothing has really changed this time. I do wonder how long until people can take the vaccine – I get how it has been made so much quicker though.
The vaccine announcement is goods news, although it will obviously be a while until it is rolled out.
Definitely, I think a lot of people think it will be reading in weeks when that isn’t going to happen.
I think the best thing is to have something to focus on, no matter how little that you can feel like you have accomplished something
Definitely, I think we have all accomplished something over lockdown as we are managing to carry on despite so much change.
For sure this year has been hard for all of us, but better things will come and the holidays are here, so we can have some happiness even if it is meeting the family on zoom
Definitely – I do hope that 2021 will bring some sense of the normal back to us.
I have been enjoying some pleasant weather this week. It is a nice break from November weather.
I am glad you have had some nice weather this week, it has been so dark and dull here.
It seems it’s been getting worse lately with covid. Our schools had to shut down again. Luckily I already decided to homeschool, so my kids are still on their normal schedule. I just hope everything can go back to normal soon.
Oh no I am so sorry your child school has had to shut down again. I am the same, though I’m not sure I quite remember what normal is now.
I am grateful for everything I have and all my family and friends.
I know that feeling – they have really got us all through I think those connections.
I love entering competitions but I haven’t had the time to enter many lately. Hopefully, I can get some work out the way to make a bit of time ready for the Advents
Good luck I hope you get some time to enter the advents – I did them last year but didn’t win anything. It’s so up and down with them lol.
Hope you have a fab birthday!x
Thank you so much that’s really kind of you!
Have you tried a window vac in your wet room? I’ve got a Karcher one and have found it really useful. They’re on offer quite often so keep your eyes peeled on Black Friday etc!
Someone else recommended that – I did get one to review years ago and my parents stole it for their shower room – I’ll have to watch out for a sale thank you.
