November 16th – Life After a Lockdown #85
I’m sure I only blink before another week passes and the next time for Life After a Lockdown is here. The past week has included news of new lockdowns across Europe. Some parts of the UK are bringing in new measures as well, for instance, Wales are now asking for Covid passes in some situations such as going to the cinema, theatre and other leisure activities.
The terror threat level has been increased to severe after a bombing outside Liverpool Women’s Hospital. An absolutely awful thing to have happened, one person was injured and the bomber died. If the rumours going around are true – the taxi driver and injured person was extremely brave.
On a brighter note (perhaps) today is my birthday and I’m definitely getting old.
On With The Linky!
Starting off I must say a huge thank you to Bex from Futures for joining me each week as my co-host and of course Jenni at Lyrical Host (affiliate link) for kickstarting the idea!
If you would like to take part, it’s simple:
We ask that you give both Bex and I a link back in your post, as hosts of the linkup and you can copy the questions below.
After that; all you need to do is pop back to mine or Bex’s post and add your link in the inlinkz.
1. How are you feeling/coping?
2. What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?
3. What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?
4. What tips do you have for others when out and about?
5. What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
6. What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
7. What has made you smile this week?
8. Anything else you would like to mention?

So what did week 85 hold:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
I’m a bit blah at the moment. I had my flu jab late last week and I had a bit of a reaction to it. I also tried to get some blog work done over the weekend which left me tired.
Why can’t I do anything without my fatigue getting bad!
I’m a bit worried about what will happen as the weather gets colder, however, I do hope we have some sort of plan in place.
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?
Last week was actually a pretty quiet week. Just the flu jab on the cards. It was nice to have a week without too many appointments I had to admit.
3. What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?
You never quite know what will happen next, things change in the blink of an eye often. There are sometimes only days or hours between a new rule being announced and coming into effect.
4) What tips do you have for others when out and about?
Remember to try and keep socially distance, I’ve noticed along with fewer masks people are getting closer together again.
There is no harm in trying to keep yourself and others safer.
5) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
I got my first gift guide out last week so it has to be that. As I review and photograph each item on my guide I find it can be a long hard slog at the time, rather than just having images and wording submitted to me.
However, I always feel a sense of achievement from managing to do it as well.
6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
For central heating – it has got so cold at times! Been nice to flick the heating on and just warm up a bit. Though luckily it’s not needed all the time “yet”.
7) What has made you smile this week?
I started a birthday fundraiser on Facebook for Pathway Lichfield – who is the refuge who I went to after being in abusive relationships. I’ve been able to raise over £100 for them so far and that has been an absolute highlight I have to admit!
If you are reading this and donated THANK YOU SO MUCH!
8) Anything else you would like to mention?

It all just seems like rather a bad memory now! I’m not sure how I coped – I just did. There was really no alternative. If ever there was a case of Sink or Swim, this was it.
Happy birthday! The lockdowns have been so scary and reality is still strange.
Thank you – they have been worrying haven’t they? I feel like we might have another coming as well with the new varient.
A very happy belated birthday for this week, and I sympathise about feeling a bit off because in the past 3 weeks I’ve had my flu jab followed by my covid booster and the two have combined to leave me feeling an bit odd. (Odder than normal)
Thank you so much! Oh no I bet that was hard going having them so close together, I have to admit I’m not sure when my booster is due I might have to look into that.
