Natural Hand and Foot Care

I’m not sure what it is about my hands, but over the last few years they have got increasingly dry and my nails brittle – I actually recently did a trial of a product, it worked amazingly until I had to go on a two weeks break and use an ‘up keep’ product, which left my nails pealing like they never have before. Of course I quickly set to covering them with some of my favourite products but nothing seemed to be making much of a difference, so when I had to order my, My Pure review products for June, I thought it was a perfect time to try some nail balm.

Gwdihw Nail Wizard Balm

This nail balm is aimed at brittle and flaky nails; it is made to nourish both the nails and cuticles and contains ingredients such as lemon oil to cleanse and cocoa butter to nourish.

Gwdihw are a brand based in Anglesey, Wales – who use traditional methods to develop each of their products, which are often made with local herbs blended into them.

Gwdihw nail balm offers a soft balm, that quickly turns into an oil based liquid, which is easy to rub into the nail and cuticle area, however it does take a while to soak in completely, but then when it comes to nail products I’ve found that isn’t necessarily a bad thing and using it before bed allows it as long as it might need anyway.

Since using the balm the skin around my nails has healed up (I admit it, I pick at it a lot which can be quite painful), my nails are looking to be better, although I could also put that down to new growth. However overall I’m sure it has made a marked impact on the condition in general, with it being a very soothing balm. I shall be adding to my rotation of nail products for the foreseeable future.

Bentley Organic – Organic Foot Balm

As I was pampering my hands, I thought it would be nice to pamper my feet as well, this organic foot balm contains a number of certified organically grown ingredients such as its main ingredient peppermint and tea tree oil, both of which work to cleanse and cool the feet, while organic sunflower, olive, jojoba and shea butter work to nourish and protect.

The foot balm comes in a 27g pot, so you aren’t going to want to use this to cover your feet in morning and night, however I have found it is just perfect for using on tried feet, or if you have certain areas of hard skin, as a balm, to enhance the action of your normal cream.

If you are a fan of minty fragrances you will love this balm, in many ways I think the fragrance helps revive the senses as the balm works at reviving your aching feet making for a perfect duo.

The balm itself is quite soft and easy to scoop out of the tub by just using your fingers, once out it easily melts with the warmth of your hands, making it easy to rub into any area, like the nail balm once ‘melted’ it has quite an oily consistency however with this one it does quickly soak into the skin.

With how nourishing this is, I am thinking about trying it on the ultra dry areas of my body such as my elbows, I actually think it could well make quite a difference. As for usage on my feet, I am definitely keeping it to the smaller drier areas for daily use so when my feet are feeling at there worst I can give them an extra special pampering.
