Whilst motorhomes and campervans have been holidaying on home soil for years, Brits are increasingly enjoying a staycation in the UK as opposed to boarding a plane to head to foreign lands. For motorhome owners, a staycation is an opportunity to take your ‘home’ on wheels to any location you wish — and the beauty of it? You aren’t squashed into a small tent with the rest of your family, and if it rains, it doesn’t matter, because you have a roof over your head.

When holidaying with a motorhome however, you are restricted to just UK soil — you can enjoy the open road and take your wheels all over the world — and with the latest VW Trailer Assist, it’s never been easier. Ocean Lakes Family Campground

Use this campsite as an opportunity to take your campervan on an American road trip. Situated in South Carolina, this site won ‘RV Park of the Year’ and ranked in the top 1% of campgrounds in America. Pretty impressive! And there’s no surprise why. It’s situated on the oceanfront, stretching across one mile of oceanfront, and you can camp here all year round.

This large campsite is home to 630 pitches, which you can reserve up to 18 months in advance. With plenty of activities on offer, it’s fair to say your kids won’t be bored. From basketball and volleyball to horseshoes and outdoor pools, the activities are endless.

And you won’t be stuck for things to do. The local area offers national award-winning shows, more than 100 golf courses, and is home to Brookgreen Gardens — named one of the top ten public gardens in America. It’s definitely worth taking a trip in your RV down to South Carolina.

Campsite Naturista ‘El Portús’

Soak up some sun and authentic Spanish culture at the Campsite Naturista ‘El Portús’, in the Spanish region of Murcia, looking out onto blue seas and clifftops. With over 350 touring pitches available, there are also 60 permanent pitches up for grabs and 80 accommodation units for hire.

There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy a swim on this campsite with outdoor and indoor swimming pools, of which the outdoor pool is open between the months of June and September. Wi-fi is available, and there are snack bars, a pizzeria and a restaurant on site so you can take a break from any cooking duties on your trip.

The beach is just minutes away, with activities that can be enjoyed by the whole family. From windsurfing to waterskiing, you can make the most of having the sea within throwing distance.

Fields End Water Caravan Park, Lodges & Fishery

A luxury campsite to be enjoyed by adults only. This five-star rated campsite is located in the heart of Cambridgeshire, offering 59 touring pitches, 14 tent pitches and six luxury self-catering lodges equipped with hot tubs. For the fishing enthusiasts, there are two on-site fishing lakes to enjoy, with guaranteed peace and quiet thanks to their adults-only policy. Dogs are very much welcome, with plenty of fenlands to enjoy all year round.

With extra-large pitches available, larger RVs and motorhomes can be accommodated. Rest assured the relaxing site can act as a great base to explore Cambridgeshire.

If you are looking for a site that is perfect for families, then look no further than Hendra Holiday Park, situated in Newquay, Cornwall. There is something fun for everyone.
