Michael Todd #Soniclear: Review

I got to try some of Michael Todd’s products earlier in the year and was really impressed by how well they worked, however I completely admit that one of the other product that took my eye on their website, was the Soniclear, this is their take on the Clarisonic which  I have long wondered about trying but never have. So I was over the moon when they let me give the Soniclear a try and see what I thought.

So what makes Soniclear different? 

The Soniclear is the world’s first Antimicrobial cleanser, meaning the brush stays cleaner for longer, as it is fighting the bacteria left from usage 24/7. The Soniclear comes with two head attachments one for the face and the other for the body, with each having a choice of 3 different settings, as a device it can be used in the shower or out and features an inbuilt timer.

Soniclear technology is a lot kinder to the skin than traditional rotating head meaning it can be used twice a day even on sensitive skin.

When it comes to cleansing with the Soniclear, they suggest removing your eye makeup prior to use and of course it is best used with your favourite cleanser, (it can be used with a gentle exfoliator as well), the use of the brush will help remove make up 6 times better and cleanses the skin 2 times better than with the use of your hands alone.

What is it like to use?

The Soniclear actually fits comfortably into your hand with two soft grip sides while taking the heads on and off is such a simple process. Switching between settings is done at the touch of a button with the lights indicating which setting you have activated (bottom light for low, top for medium and both for the highest).

I found once I had got used to the inbuilt timer, it ran for just the right length of time for facial cleansing and the use of the brush definitely left my skin feeling softer and cleaner than without it.

The brush seemed to always dry out between uses, I never came back to a partly damp brush which is something I found with hand held facial brushes I have previously used and oddly this makes for a big plus for me, damp brushes are just like putting on a damp swimming costume.

Sadly I can’t say how well it works on breakouts as I am in the midst of an almighty one, which has been going on for months now and nothing seems to sort it out (I’m blaming it on stress) but I hope once things calm down for me it will help keep at bay those everyday spots.

Personally, I couldn’t go out and just buy the Soniclear as it is a little out of my price range, however if I was in the market for one having saved up I think this would really be high on my list, I love the fact it can be used both as a face brush and a body brush, the fact is feels clean each use and leaves my skin feeling so soft.
