Loadofolbobbins Sparrow Earrings Review

One of my favourite things about blogging is that I come across some incredible small brands and get to share them with you. Last week I shared Good Twine of Lincoln and today I’m here with another completely different small business Loadofolbobbins.

Who are Loadofolbobbins?

Run by Jess, Loadofolbobbins is an incredible artist who specialises in textile art and illustration. Based in Portsmouth, you will notice that within her work there is a particular love for silhouettes and pigeons.

Loadofoldbobbins includes a number of collections such as Classic Literature, Birds of a Feather, Coosplay and Suffragette Collection. Within a number of the ranges you will often find items which have been created to raise awareness and funds for good causes.

I want to quickly touch on the Coosplay collection before I go on to the main review. You can see a couple of items from this collection in the above image, which I bought myself. We decided not to dedicate the post to the Coosplay range as pigeons bring up mixed feelings for some people. However, I had to show it to those who like pigeons like Jess and I.

In particular, the 100 Days of Coosplay is such a fun book to have around, while the range of pins is just perfect for pin collectors.

Birds of a Feather

The Birds of a Feather range is dedicated to all those feathered friends you may spot in your garden and contains a range of pins, earrings and necklaces.

The items are all beautifully eye-catching and lightweight, having been made from responsibly sourced European Birch plywood. While all of the items have been printed and cut in the UK.

What’s more, with each sale of an item from the Birds of a Feather collection £1 is donated to the RSPB.

Sparrow Earrings

I was kindly sent the sparrow earrings from the Birds of a Feather collection. These colourful earrings are printed on responsibly sourced 3mm European Birch plywood.

Size wise they come out at around 3cm x 5cm and are hung on silver-plated iron-based alloy and nickel-compliant earrings, which are designed and assembled by Jess.

Aren’t they just incredible?

Other birds in the range also include; Blackbird, Goldfinch, Magpie, Crow, Wren and more.

The sparrow earrings come in at £20 and are a must for anyone.

My Thoughts on Loadofolbobbins

I am really impressed with Loadofolbobbins, the illustrations are just fantastic and everything is so well made and finished.

I’m a huge fan of the Coosplay range and can see me adding more pins to my collection, while I would definitely be interested in buying more from other collections as well.

The Birds of a Feather range is just stunning, Jess has really captured each bird well. While the price is really good for a handmade item.
