Lately I’m Loving – October
So here we are at another month’s end, it hard to believe there is only two months left of 2016 and that we will soon be hitting a brand new year. However for now here are a few things I have loved this October.
Chambers & Co Balm for Active Hands – £8.00
I can always tell when it starts to get colder as my hands start to suffer quite badly with dry skin and while I adore hand creams, there are some very well known and loved ones that most definitely don’t love me, leaving my hands feeling drier than they were to start with. As such I am always on the look out to try new products and see if they can help keep my hands looking and feeling a lot better.
I normally use two different hand creams a lighter one during the day and a more moisturising one to see me through the night and this Hand Balm for Active Hands from Cambers & Co has been my go to night time one of late.
This particular balm comes in a solid state, which when warmed by your hands melts into a form that is quickly absorbed by the skin, which leaves your hands feeling wonderfully nourished and cared for.
As this balm contains Aloe Vera, Coconut Oil and Almond Oil, it is not only great for moisturising but also helps repair and protect your hands as well and believe me it seems the cared for feeling lasts all night long.
Blue Agate Clock – £15
This is a find from one of my favourite little local shops The Cauldron, who are based at Curborough Hall Farm, they sell a gorgeous range of crystals and incense as well as offering personalised products (we got our doggy door number from here).
I went in a couple of weeks ago and he had a pink agate clock he was in the middle of making and I said; now if that was blue I would have snapped it up, only to be told well I do have blue I need to work on. So here I am a couple of weeks later, with a beautiful blue one of my own.
One of the things I love about this clock is it can be placed on a stand or hung on the wall, so at the moment it is stood on my table by the sofa, so I can hopefully keep up with how much time I am spending blogging and not work into the early hours.
Godiva Chocolate Tablet – £6.00
A few weeks ago it was chocolate week and everyday Godiva were giving out samples of their delicious chocolate tablets. If you missed it sorry, however if you managed to grab yourself a little taste, I am sure you can agree they are delicious.
Godiva produce some of my favourite chocolate, they have obviously worked really hard on the blends, which they then accentuate with an amazing array of fillings.
Now Christmas is one of those times of year, when chocolate is often given as a gift and I can most definitely say your recipient will be thanking you for adding one of these little tablets to their stocking over a big selection pack as just a small bite is enough to curb those cravings, thanks to its delicious, melt in your mouth texture.
Janjira Art of Siam Therapy Hand Cream – £14.00
I earlier told you about the hand balm I have been using at night and said in the day I had been using something different and that is the Art of Siam Therapy hand cream from Janjira. Hailing from Thailand, Janjira are a range of spa quality products.
While I’m sure this cream would work as a deeply moisturising night time cream, the mix of ingredients such as Bergamot Oil, Ginger Oil and Lime Oil and the sweet citrus fragrance, make for an invigorating and uplifting fragrance making it overall in my mind just perfect for daytime use.
To help with the moisturising effect of this hand cream it also includes Almond Oil and Shea Butter and you might just be thrilled to hear that it isn’t greasy, so you can apply and get on with your day. While the feeling of hydration seems to last for a long period of time, meaning you don’t need to worry about reapplying every few minutes.
Lyme Regis Fossils
While we were staying at Hawchurch Resort earlier in the month I came back with a few souvenirs and as of course Lyme Regis is part of the Jurassic Coast, so I just had to pick up this selection of ammonites which had been found in the local area.
Even as a child I had a huge fascination with fossils and crystals, however my collection has dwindled over the years, so it is nice to be starting if off again. However once upon a time I probably would have gone looking for them myself, rather than buying them and there was a great selection of fossil hunting tours on offer, which the old me just wanted to take part in, however mobility of these days just doesn’t allow.
Pettura Oral Health – £24.99
Sal is getting on now, having hit the ripe old age of 15 and so far we have been very lucky with her, yes she has had some health issues and yes she has an ongoing issue with her belly which means she can only eat a special diet. But for a dog of her age she is still sprightly and alert and acting like a puppy from time to time.
One of the things we were unable to ever get Sal used to having done, was her teeth being brushed and we have relied on products such as Dentastix to keep her oral-health as best as we could. However we have recently added Pettura Oral Health to the mix.
While it took some getting used to for Sal, as you only need to gently rub it around the mouth, rather than brush it was definitely easier than a toothbrush and she is slowly but surely getting more used to it and I know that her teeth and gums are going to be better for it in the long run.
maskorea Too Many Late Nights Sheet Mask – £4.99
I love trying different masks and these from maskorea are a brand new to the UK. This three step mask routine, is based on South Korea’s 12-step routine and has been made their, but designed in London. One of the first things that jumped out at me about these masks, is they haven’t been tested on animals and are free from; mineral oil, parabens, silicon and artificial colouring.
The concept of the mask is really simple; it contains a foaming face wash, mask and night cream which is applied over the residue of the mask. I will say this isn’t a quick mask to use, you are going to need around 45 minutes all in all, as you need to leave the sheet mask on for 30 minutes alone.
However, putting the time aside is worth it as I found after using this one my skin felt not only deeply moisturised but also firmed, while it does look less tired that it dd before I used it. The mask does say it is best used twice weekly for the first 4 weeks and then weekly thereafter. I’ve only tried one so far and it has definitely made me interested enough to think about trying the whole routine and see what long term effects it has.
Sesderma C Vit Moisturizing Facial Cream Vitamin C – £36.40
This month my face as well as hands have been suffering from the colder weather, so it is obvious I needed to up my game when it comes to miniaturisation. I was recently sent the Sesderma C-Vit Moisturizing Facial Cream, which is made specially to combat photo-aging, especially in dry skin.
Made by a group of dermatologists in Spain, this cream mixes nanotechnology with ethyl ascorbic acid, the most stable form of vitamin C. This not only helps the skin combat the signs of ageing and recapture some of its youthful glow, but also helps make sure that the ingredients are able to penetrate into the deepest layers of the skin as possible.
I found the cream had a light fresh fragrance, which perhaps had a slight citrus tone to it, however as you would wish, from a facial cream it very quickly dissipated after application, only offering a bit of an uplifting boost during application.
When it came to the cream itself it has a wonderful thick creamy feel to it, but thankfully it doesn’t sit on the skin, being absorbed in quickly and leaving the skin feeling as though it had been treated to a pampering moisture boost, without the worry of a sticky residue laden skin.
To me Sesderma C-Vit Moisturizing Facial Cream is a cream that can be used day or night as it absorbs well enough to offer a good base before you use your makeup, while still offering that moisture boost you want from a night cream.
With that in mind, it left me really thrilled with the benefits it offered and I am definitely looking forward to see how it pans out after being used in the longer term.
Stretch Lace Full Sleeve Black Wingz – £18.99
Wingz are something I have featured on the blog before and have become an integral part of my wardrobe, with my collection growing all the time.
That time of year is on the way, during which, I was forever seeing dresses I adored, then noticed they were sleeveless and that idea went straight out the window. However that isn’t something I have to worry about anymore thanks to Wingz.
Just in time for the party season Wingz have brought out their new stretched lace design,. This elegant design, to me, seems perfect for the upcoming festivities. As with the scalloped edging and beautiful lace detailing they will help accentuate and not detract from so many different dress styles and leave you able to enjoy the party and not worry about your arms, if you are anything like me.
White Quartz Geode
This is another of my buys from while we were staying at Hawkchurch Resort, this one came from Charmouth Fossils, which is a lovely little shop full of so many interesting fossils and crystals, I actually picked up a couple of bits from here, including another ammonite and a Himalayan salt tea light holder as well as this geode.
We turned up at this shop just a couple of minutes before it closed and I felt awful for the guy, as we were “that customer” so we did just pop around as quickly as possible, which probably saved my pocket, but I would have loved to have had a better look – perhaps one day. This was a last minute spot as we stood checking out and I am so pleased I spotted it out of the corner of my eye, as it is so pretty and delicate.
So there’s just a few things I have picked up and loved this month, what do you think of my finds, does anything catch your eye?

I see a few things I like but this maskorea Too Many Late Nights Sheet Mask is one that I need. I don’t always get enough hours of sleep. On those nights, I don’t want to wake up the next morning looking crazy.
