June 15 – Life in a Lockdown #63
So step four of lockdown easing has been put back, we all saw that coming I think. It’s a shame, but we also need to protect people. After all, easing restrictions too early could see a big wave again.
We have still come a long way since Christmas, with so much more open to people who feel able to step out again.
On With The Linky!
Starting off I must say a huge thank you to Bex from Futures for joining me each week as my co-host and of course Jenni at Lyrical Host (affiliate link) for kickstarting the idea!
If you would like to take part, it’s simple:
We ask that you give both Bex and I a link back in your post, as hosts of the linkup and you can copy the questions below.
After that; all you need to do is pop back to mine or Bex’s post and add your link in the inlinkz.
1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
3) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
4) Do you have any plans for lockdown easing?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? (Especially if from a small business.)
6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
7) What would you like the future to know about life during a pandemic?
8) Anything else you would like to mention?

So what did week 63 hold:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
I expected the next step on lockdown easing to be put back, especially with cases of the delta variant being so high. I am sure for many it is disappointing but I’ll be honest we still haven’t done much more than we were in full lockdown.
Personally, I have been feeling too unwell and I’m really not sure I would feel safe enough yet anyway.
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
I had quite a few appointments last week, both for my mental and physical health. Still, not many answers as I get told to wait until you talk to the haematologist for most things. So I am just keeping my fingers crossed answers may come at some point.
3) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
I’m going to be a bit cheeky this week and say my Tutti Rouge review post, mainly as I’ve really struggled to even think about writing reviews of late and I actually managed to do one.
4) Do you have any plans for lockdown easing?
Nothing – I keep wanting to get my hair done, but I really don’t think I could face the hairdressers yet. Might see if someone can come and cut it in the garden or something. Is that a thing?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? (Especially if from a small business.
One thing I love about entering competitions is it so often introduces you to wonderful small businesses. Recently I can across WaxByHONEYBUNNYCO and CraftaholicLucie (affiliate links). Who had teamed up both to do a giveaway and release a range of fun boxes.

As soon as I saw this box with both wax melts and a cute bee (affiliate link), I knew I had to grab it! Coming in at £15 you can choose the scents for the wax to make sure they suit you.
6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
My Dad – parking at the local hospital is awful so he helps us by driving and sorting parking while Ash and I go into sort my appointments. Not sure how we would manage without him.
7) What would you like the future to know about life during a pandemic?
You never know what is around the corner. Things might seem good, then suddenly things take a turn in the opposite direction. Never feel like you know what is going to happen.
8) Anything else you would like to mention?

I think we must all come to terms with the fact that Covid is here to stay. We’ll have to be vaccinated against it each year, just as we do with the flu jab. It was very disappointing to have Freedom Day delayed, but given the unfettered spread of the Delta variant, I don’t see the Government had any real option. We need more people to get vaccinated and those who already have been need to remain sensible and shun risky behaviour.
I have to admit I agree. I don’t think COVID will “die out” like some of the previous pandemics have, I think we will need to keep on top of our immunity to it.
I expected lockdown to take longer too – but I feel like so much is opened up that I am really not missing much! I love the look of those wax melts.
Yeah we are sort of at the point there isn’t too much to go unless of course you love clubbing.
That bee is ever so cute! I think we all expected the date to be pushed back to be honest and I am pretty glad about it.
Isn’t it adorable I have a thing about bee’s at the moment. I am glad I hope it helps rates as we are going up again.
Life in a lockdown is never easy. Everyting came in off guard and we can’t say until when. One thing I learned is being greatful in waking up everyday
It is so hard isn’t it – we never quite know what might happen next as well.
I’m so glad the lockdown has been over for quite a while in my area. I’ve been doing great and am so glad to be fully back to normal.
That is amazing – it is incredible how some places have really managed to do so well.
So sorry to hear you are still waiting for lots of answers, fingers crossed you get more info and answers soon. Oh and yes getting your hair cut in the garden is totally a thing, I think most mobile hairdressers would happily accommodate this for you!
Ohh thank you – you’ve just given me the push to ask on a local group about it – I’d love to have something done with my mop!
I think we are seeing a big wave without the restrictions being lifted. Its so frustrating as some people won’t follow rules and it affects us all in the long run. Hopefully when more get vaccinated, we can return to a new normal.
It is so hard to see isn’t it, people seem to just jump in feet first without thinking at times.
The extension wasn’t really a surprise. We’ve not been doing much either. To be honest, most of my time is like lockdown as I didn’t do much before this all happened. I didn’t realise until this all happened.
No, it wasn’t I expected it as soon as we started to go up so quickly on cases. Yeah I can’t go out much anyway so nothing much different we can do lol.
I hope you get your answers from your appointment soon, I have just booked a private appointment for C to see someone regarding her jaw as it is getting ubearable. I desperately need my hair cut but not been able to get there yet
Oh gosh poor C I hope they can do something to help her – I always find jaw / tooth pain is AWFUL.
