  1. Well said! – I spend far too much time sharing my own content and my friends and not enough just enjoying the platform and what it has to offer.

    I love sharing other peoples content but I like it to be relevant to my followers so most of the time it’s the same 2-3 friends that I share over and over again. I need to be more versatile, thanks for the tips Sarah, you’re a star.

  2. love that last tip i’ve found so many amazing online friends that reciprocate on all my tweets and interact to great degree and this all started with me just interacting with. brilliant post with amazing tips, very very helpful for newbies and seasoned peeps all around.

  5. These are great suggestions. I have had a huge surge in traffic since using a scheduler too. I also don’t even look at anyone using an egg. It so true, upload a photo

  6. I went to a conference where a speaker recommended replying to 5 tweets a day (more if possible, but a minimum of 5 tweets). Twitter is about engagement, so make friends. I tried it out and it really works. The people who I replied to, replied back and I often heard back from them on other topics weeks later. Unfortunately I haven’t diligent about it lately, but every now and again I scan my feed for things to reply to.

  8. These are great tips! I don’t think people realize how visualize Twitter is. Having a picture in a tweet gets so much better engagement.

  9. I would love to be more active on Twitter, but I just don’t understand it very well. I hate to practice hitting buttons for fear of messing someone else’s tweet up. Keep trying, right?

  10. I need to be more consistent with social media in general, let alone twitter. Having been offline quite a bit in the last few months I feel that I will have a battle ahead to get back to where I once was. I am interested in how many hashtags you think should be used in a tweet. I was told no more than 3!

    1. Good luck with getting there – I need to try and be more consistent I go through phases where I am so on it and it shows and then suddenly I go off again and forget >.< x

  12. Great tips and I totally agree consistency is key to twitter and most social platforms. I have a hard time being consistent on ALL platforms every day. I do my best but sometimes I lack in content and support.

  14. These are spot on. I also use giveaways to help increase my following too. I also use hashtag pretty consistently but I don’t overdo it.

  16. A lot of people don’t make use of schedulers, which can be very beneficial. It makes your account seem more active when you have tweets released at least every hour or two. I’m glad we’ve realized how important hashtags are though. It’s really amazing and it can bring a lot of traffic to your account!

  19. I have read that you have to properly time your tweet to reach more people at one time. Buffer would be a good tool to use! Twitter has helped me a lot to grow my blog followers!

  21. These are such great tips for Twitter. I typically like to tweet whatever is interesting to me, but I really need to get more on brand. Overtired mommy articles it is!

  22. These are some great tips. I use a scheduler all the time and I tweet 24 hours a day (hourly so as not to be too annoying). I’ll have to try some of these other tips.

  26. These are great tips. Nothing drives me more insane than people who don’t take the 3 seconds to upload a profile pic and leave that egg there.
