Haircare Tips for All Seasons
My hair is looking a bit unloved at the moment and I could do with a pick-me-up to get it back into a good condition for spring. After all, I don’t want to keep it hiding under a hat or hood all year long.
So here are a few of my tips for making sure your hair is in tip-top condition:
Have A Hair Cut.

Did you know you should get your hair trimmed every 6-8 weeks to keep it in a good condition from root to tip?
I have to admit this perhaps my downfall as while I have a lovely hairdresser, I just don’t like having my hair cut.
So instead I often DIY it, cutting about half an inch above any split ends, to try and keep them at bay.
Turn Down The Heat.

If you are a fan of a hairdryer, straightening irons or curling tongs, don’t be fooled into turning up the dial to get better results.
As you could, in fact, be having the opposite effect, as the hotter the heat, the more likely it is to be damaging your hair.
Use A Hair Mask.
Finding a hair mask that is perfect for your hair type, can be a long hard slog. However, it is worth it in the end, as it can really help your hair look its best.
Hair masks, on the whole, are best used weekly. Plus if you can leave them on overnight and shower them off the next day even better.
However, each one is different so do read the label before you use.
Change Your Hairbrush.

A hard-bristled brush is going to do more damage to your hair than one with softer bristles.
So why not treat your hair to a natural, soft-bristled, alternative and see if it helps your hair.
Find Out More About Your Hair Issues.
If you are having specific issues with your hair, it is worth looking more into them and seeing if there is a reason behind it.
Personally, I would love to get more of an understanding of hair loss. As this is something I personally suffer with.
So I will be looking to do some research on this, in the coming months.
Wear A Wig.

Sometimes, I fancy dying my hair in all sorts of colours, or just having a drastic change. I know this wouldn’t be a good idea for my hair, as being a very dark brunette, it would mean bleach and many people are looking to go back to their natural hair anyway.
A way around dying your own hair, but still having fun with colours is using a wig, while they also give you the chance to try out new hairstyles before you fully commit!
Hopefully one of these tips will help you and if you do have any more I have missed I would love to hear them.

My hair is very weather dependent! It can be curly, or just have an annoying wave!
Mine is pretty similar it can be a nightmare to try and get ontop of at times.
Some great tips. My hair needs a bit of tlc, I could probably do with trying a hair mask.
I think I need to the same, it’s picking up on the weather changes for sure!
I have never tried a wig for color, but admittedly have considered it. As for the trims, I DIY too most of the time because like you, I just don’t like to go in and have the haircuts.
It is a great way to be able to play with colour without harming your hair.
I would love a brightly coloured hairstyle, so a wig would be a great option. I do need a new hairbrush too
I think it is a great way to be able to play with your hair!
It’s amazing what just a trim can do to improve the overall look of your hair. I’ve found letting my hair dry naturally where I can helps too.
It really is isn’t it? It can really make it look so much better.
This is awesome! Really great haircare tips. I will definitely keep this in mind. Thanks for sharing.
I think for many their hair is such an important thing, we all want to keep it looking good!
I always wear my hair long so my biggest issue is split ends. I have it trimmed regularly to address the issue. I have also stopped using heat when using my blow dryer.
Splitends are awful, aren’t they? I was a nightmare as a kid of pulling them apart as well when I caught them.
These are some fab tips. My hair is looking a little lacklustre right now, it is always worse in the colder months.
It is amazing what the weather does to our hair isn’t it?
