Fentimans Traditional Natural Botanical Drinks: Review and Competition
It is no secret that I love a cup of tea, but when it comes to summer, sometimes it is nice to grab a nice cool drink, just relax and cool down in the sun. Of course, there are a huge number of well-known fizzy drinks out on the market. While they are good for day to day use, when it comes to relaxing in the sun with friends and family is something that is natural, has history and tastes absolutely delicious.
Fentimans are a family run company that was founded back in 1905, it was perhaps a fateful start to the company, Thomas Fentiman was an iron puddler and approached by a fellow tradesman for a loan. As security, a recipe for a botanically brewed ginger beer was provided and when the loan was never paid back, Thomas began producing and selling the recipe to local people, delivering it door to door.
Of course, with an ever-changing world, it has meant the company has had to grow and adapt, no longer do they deliver door to door, but instead are stocked both online and in stores such as Waitrose online and small farm shops. The production process has also changed, but one thing remains the same, the quality and love for the drinks they are making.
Ash and I were kindly sent a hamper full of botanical drinks from Fentimans to try for ourselves. Ash always tells me a drink from a glass bottle tastes much better than one from plastic or a can, so I thought it was a good time to put it to the test and see what I thought of a drink from a really smart looking glass bottle.
The one thing that hit me with each of the bottles I tried, was the flavour, it had more depth to it than other drinks I have tried. You can really taste each of the characters coming through and the fizz thankfully isn’t too gassy.
Both Ash and I agree than Fentimans offer a really good quality drink, one which I would be happy to serve to anyone who came to visit, with a variety that offers something for everyone. From your traditional ginger beer and colas to rose lemonade and lemon shandy.

I’ve tried a couple of flavours already but never seen Sparkling Lime & Jasmine so that would be first on my list, it sounds fab!
