Croft Sherry Summer Spritz Review
PR Sample – I was kindly sent a bottle of Croft Sherry for consideration on my blog.
If you are looking to hold a summer get-together soon, or just want a nice refreshing drink for a warm evening, then Croft Sherry has come up with the perfect Summer Spritz recipe.
Croft Sherry

Made in Jerez, Croft Sherry is something we have probably all grown up with our parents or grandparents reaching for the Sherry at least at Christmas. However, Croft wants to show how this beloved drink is perfect for all year round and can be enjoyed by all ages.
Croft Original delivers a refreshing crisp flavour which is rounded off with an aromatic finish, meaning it is a delightful drink to serve as it comes.
This summer though they have teamed up with Bake Off Star; Sandro Farmhouse and come up with a summer spritz.
Sandro’s Croft Summer Spritz

Prep Time: 5 Minutes | Makes: 4 Spitzers (1 pitcher)
Ingredients:
- 1 orange
- 1 lemon
- 200ml of Croft Original
- 2 tbsp of pineapple syrup
- 300ml sparkling wine
- 100ml soda water
- Large ice cubes
- Several sprigs of fresh mint
For the candied peel garnish:
- Orange peel
- 1 tbsp of sugar
Method:
1. Start by making the ‘candied peel’ to decorate the glass. Cut the orange into wedges and remove the peel. Thinly slice the peel and place it in a small bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of sugar and mix well. Put to one side.
2. Cut the lemons into wedges.
3. Add the citrus wedges to a cocktail shaker and press against the sides of the shaker to release the juices.
4. Add the Croft Original, ice and pineapple syrup to the shaker and shake,
5. Pour the infused Croft Original into a glass with ice and top it with sparkling wine and soda water.
6. Garnish with the candied orange peel and a sprig of fresh mint.
What My Testers Thought of the Summer Spritz

I don’t drink alcohol, so I had to call in my band of helpers for this one and unsurprisingly they were happy to become a part of trying this out.
They found the spritz easy to make and due to the round amount, it is simple to make for a different amount of people.
The end spritz was light, refreshing and fruity, while you could still taste notes of the sparkling wine and Croft Sherry. Meaning it really is the perfect mix for the end of a long day on a warm summer evening.
Thanks to a simple recipe it is something you could easily make for a larger get-together or just to enjoy by yourself or with a partner or friend of night. What’s more, as the ingredients all can keep for at least a couple of days (wine I’m looking at you), it is something you could make over the weekend and then enjoy again a few days later by making again.
Croft Sherry alone and in this spritz definitely gets a thumbs up from my alcohol testing committee.
If you would like to try it for yourself, Croft is available to buy in most major supermarkets and you can find out more on their website.

Great idea. Normally only have Sherry on Christmas Day morning!!
This post brought back childhood memories of having family visitors in the evenings. The men would always drink beer from a large, glass flagon and the women would always drink a small glass a sherry.
Although sherry is no longer a go-to drink, it’s actually extremely versatile and varied. Love the idea of this summer spritz.
Tried it and is a great drink thank you
Oh fantastic I am so glad you like it!
Some fantastic ideas here, sherry wasn’t something I’d thought of for a drink before
Do let me know if you have given it a try I’d love to know what you think.
I don’t usually drink alcohol but I do like spritzes so this sounds like one I would enjoy
You will have to let me know what you think if you give it a go.
I’ve got a bottle of Croft Original in my cupboard but have never thought of using it in a cocktail. I’ll have to give this a try.
Oh do let me know what you try with it! I hope you enjoy it.
This looks like a nice drink to have on a summer’s day!
Definitely, I’ve been reliably told it is very refreshing!
This certainly sounds like something I would like to try
I hope you do like it if you get to try it out!
Never thought of a spritz made with sherry – will try out soon
Let me know what you think it is definitely something a bit different isn’t it?
It’s such an excellent idea, using what used to be my Mum’s favourite tipple, as a base for a spritz! Brilliant for a BBQ!
Yes! A BBQ would be the perfect time to have this and enjoy it with your family.
I rarely drink alcohol, don’t even have any at home apart from cooking wine but the occasional special occasion I do drink, I like a citrusy cocktail so this does sound appealing.
I can understand that – I don’t drink at all which is why I get in people to help with alcohol, it isn’t for everyone but if you do like something citrusy every now and then this is worth a go!
Hmm sherry is not a tipple of my choice. I would need a free sample 😉
Haha you never know perhaps later in the year I can get them to allow me to give one away.
@Sarah-Louise Bailey, well it was a good try! – and you do have such a wide variety of giveaway
Always worth a go – I think I did ask if they wanted to give one away with this review but sadly they didn’t – I always give it a try myself lol.
