February 9 – Life in a Lockdown #45
I will be honest I don’t have got much of an intro this week. I’m sure there is something I should be saying but alas I don’t know.
The only thing I can think is South Africa seem to think that the AztraZenic injection might not be as effective against the variant of B.1.351. It is of course something that may well happen as things change with Covid. However, hopefully, the people creating the vaccine will be able to modify it as needed.
Time will tell. `
On With The Linky!
Starting off I must say a huge thank you to Bex from Futures for joining me each week as my co-host and of course Jenni at Lyrical Host (affiliate link) for kickstarting the idea!
If you would like to take part, it’s simple:
We ask that you give both Bex and I a link back in your post, as hosts of the linkup and you can copy the questions below.
After that; all you need to do is pop back to mine or Bex’s post and add your link in the inlinkz.
1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
3) What do you think the coming weeks and months might hold for you (or the world)?
4) If you could remind yourself something about this time in years to come what would it be?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from as mall business.
6) What is a unique (or not) technique you have used to get you through this time?
7) What is something your readers might not know about you?
8) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

So what did week 45 hold:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
I’ve probably felt the lowest I have in the last 7 days than I have in a while. I spent a lot of time crying.
This is a bad time of the year for me anyway, so I guess it is a mix of COVID + that.
My parents finally have a date for their injection which will be later this week, which is great! I hope it all goes well for them.
I’m trying to just get through each hour at the moment a little at a time.
While I’m also writing this with only one contact in as one keeps falling out so my vision right now is very strange.
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
Like I said I’ve just been trying to survive.
For anyone who knows we well, knows I do have issues with sharing my emotions until they get to the point of no return. So I bought myself a Harry from Plushie Flip, who is sad on one side and happy on the other. So hopefully he might help me share my emotions a bit more.
3) What do you think the coming weeks and months might hold for you (or the world)?
I hope that the vaccine rollout will continue and with it, we will find an ease on lockdown. I think for many people it is really starting to take a toll and we could really do with time with friends and family.
4) If you could remind yourself something about this time in years to come what would it be?
That we made it through the highs and lows. I think that shows a strength not many of us knew we had.
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.
I got this keyring from Little Monogram Gifts on Etsy (affiliate link). I found them on TikTok and couldn’t resist getting a keyring from them. Perhaps one day I’ll have a key to go with it for something blog related too!

6) What is a unique (or not) technique you have used to get you through this time?
Does panicking and not coping count as right now that’s about all my technique contains.
7) What is something your readers might not know about you?
For the first 12 years of my life, I lived just outside Oxford, I’ve never really felt like Lichfield is home to me, I guess as I was never accepted by many of peers when we moved here (though I was by a few I can’t forget those).
8) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
Ash – he’s done a lot to keep me going over the past few days when I’ve been feeling really low.

Great keyring, and here’s to hoping things start to get better in the not so distant future.
fingers crossed things have got to start getting better soon right?
hope this year is better than last!
Everybody is fatigued. We just want to push the play button that covid-19 has paused.
Here’s to a better year ahead!
It’s been a very tough year, can’t believe how fast it has gone. Hopefully things will start to improve more and we can back to doing the things we love. Keep going hun, your doing amazing x
Love that keyring! I hope the Harry helps you.
It is so fun isn’t it – she does some great ones 🙂
It is crazy that is has nearly been a year, I am missing normality, let’s hope it isn’t too much longer in lockdown
Fingers crossed, I couldn’t imagine it having gone on for so long.
This week has been one of the toughest so I feel your pain. I’m just hoping things will look better when spring finally arrives 🤞🏼
Fingers crossed, spring always brings a brighter outlook with it doesn’t it?
I’m really hoping the vaccines will be effective against all strains, even if we have to get them once a year it will be worth it to stop lives being lost.
The same here it worries me it might change so much and we will be back at square one.
Sounds like this has been such a tough week for you, I hope things improve. It’s so difficult not knowing when this stretch of lockdown will end, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel xxx
Thank you so much – it is hard isn’t it – I think last year when this all started we thought it would be over by the end of the year.
Very sick of it all currently I’m just waiting for my children to be able to go back to school
It is so hard isn’t it – feels never-ending, with no end in sight.
Yes very exhausted with all of it right now
It’s just never-ending isn’t it. I just sat in a car park today and wanted to go into a shop so much, I didn’t need anything I just wanted to do something normal.
Can’t believe it’s nearly been a year – really hoping that things improve soon!
It is crazy isn’t it – I was looking back at pictures on my phone and we went to see Ash’s parents this week last year and then it all went crazy.
Sounds like a tough week, hopefully the next will be better xx
Thank you so much I am keeping my fingers crossed.
sending you huge virtual hugs xxx there is light at the end of this tunnel, this time next month we should see signs of normality again, so hibernate in this snowy weather and once spring blooms we will be free to be out and about again in the sunshine xxx
Thank you so much – I really hope so – I could do with spring springing out at us!
