  3. It’s so important to know what you’re getting yourself into with something like this, rather than just liking clothes. Sometimes it’s better to keep things as a hobby unless you’re REALLY sure!

  13. Internships and apprenticeships are so important for most trade industries, it’s just such a shame there aren’t more options in every one. It’s fab to know that there are good options in the fashion industry 🙂

    1. I found I did better in something like an apprenticeship than in a class room, hands on experience is how I really learn best. x

  14. Internships are a must to get into the fashion industry. That was the reason why I let go of the fashion stylist dream. I am too old to intern. I rather blog.

  18. Internships are important for those stating out, I know people that have worked their way up into the fashion industry this way.

  19. My niece has just today started an 11 week unpaid internship in Central London over 200 miles away from home. She is so passionate and talented with textiles and fashion and this is a great opportunity for her. She has won National awards for her work so far but this industry is not for the feint hearted. If anyone is thinking of a career in the fashion industry I would second that they need to take your advice VERY seriously!
