Denman Tangle Smoother: Review
I’ve long used the Denman Tangle Tamer which uses soft nylon bristles to glide through the hair, making for a pain free way to de-tangle, therefore when I came across the Denman Tangle Smoother I just had to give it a try.
I guess you could say the smoother is the adult version of the tamer, as while the tamer is all about soft nylon bristles, this bad boy uses mental pins to work its way through the tangles.
The base of the brush is padded, which does offer a degree of movement when you are using the smoother, however I wouldn’t approach hair brushing with gusto when it comes to this brush, as the metal pins do not offer the give of the nylon and therefore you could be in for quite an ‘owch’ moment if you decide to brush from root to tip and hit a large tangle on the way.
For this brush to work its magic, the best idea is to work from the end of your hair, brushing small sections at time, as in doing this, it very quickly works through any small or large tangles you may have.
If you wear wigs or extensions this brush should almost definitely be in your hair care tool box, as it is made to work with both, in as gentle away as possible.
The uses for this smoother doesn’t stop there however, with it making for a great volume adding brush, as it only needs a gentle push back and forth, where those with bendable bristles often need a lot more pressure to work anywhere near as well.
Going almost hand in hand with the volume addition, as it works in the say way, is that fact this makes a wonderful brush to use if you like a head massage. Once again the metal pins mean that you can gently massage your scalp, applying as much pressure as feels right for you, while the bendable bed of the pins always it to slightly move and give around the shape of your scalp.
To me this is definitely a must have brush for any collection and coming in at £10.18 – with the amount of different uses you can get from it, it really doesn’t break the bank.

Anything that will add volume to my hair has to be a good thing. Considering an investment.

Could do with this for my daughter we have lots of problems with her hair.
Not sure what makes it different from the others – but if it works I would buy it! The Tangle teazers are hopeless in our fine hair.
My daughter could definitely benefit from this. Her hair goes from smooth and silky to a matted mess in moments. It’s very thick so tricky to get through it all properly without tears.

I swear by mine – I have wavy hair and wake up with dreadlocks each morning, but the denman brushes soon sort it out!
As I’m getting older my hairs getting more brittle – and my 6yr old has long, thick hair – I think we should invest!
I love these brushes they are a god send when it comes to brushing the kids hair as without them it is a real struggle to get them to use a brush!!!!
Both my daughter and I have detangling brushes as our hair looks like rats’ tails as soon as we leave the house. We’ve not long had them but when they start to fall apart I’ll have a look at this one.
