Degustabox: July Review
I’m a little late in this review, but hopefully it will spur you on to buy next months box as I have to say this little box of treats is a great way to start the month and allow yourself some treats and perhaps try some new products that might just become must haves on your shopping list.
One of the things that stands out to me about Degustabox is the fact most of the items them include are things you could easily add to your shopping list, without the price of your weekly shop suddenly shooting up!
So what did this month’s Degustabox hold?
Lambrini – Strawberry £2.99
I personally don’t drink anything alcoholic, haven’t for years, so I didn’t get to try this apparently tasty treat myself, I gifted it to my Mum to enjoy and she’s apparently been having a little glass of it nicely chilled from the fridge on the warm summer nights. I hadn’t realised Lambrini now produced other flavours (I long remember the original). So if like me you always thought of Lambrini as something from your teens, perhaps now is a good time to rethink and pick yourself up a bottle or two to enjoy on these summer nights.
Estrella Damm
Once again this wasn’t for me – so while I treated my Mum to the Lambrini, I treated my Dad to this can of lager, he is after all the connoisseur of all such things. Estrella Damm is an imported beer sometimes known as the Beer of Barcelona, it is said to be the perfect accompaniment to any meal. My Dad thought it was a really nice drink, he’s even kept the can so he can try and get himself some more soon.
Shaken Udder – Chocolate Milkshake £1.85 for 3
I had a few of these in my last Degustabox box and to be honest out of the ones I have tried chocolate is my favourite, so I was happy when I saw this little box of chocolate milk nestled into my package. They are almost the perfect drink for a hot summer’s afternoon as they cool down really well and as long as you shake them well before serving you get a creamy chocolaty experience from start to finish.
Be Fast Breakfast – £1.00
These drinks are high in fibre a source of protein and low in fat, helping make for a great start to the day. Personally while I love real bananas, banana flavoured drinks never hit the spot with me and sadly it was the same with these. Apparently the box should have included two different flavours and I’m wondering if that’s why my box also included the Shaken Udder Chocolate Milkshake as that wasn’t included on the itinerary. I have to admit it would have been nice to try another of the Be Fast range, as I think with the right flavour these could be a really useful item to keep around the place for those mornings when my get up and go, has got up and gone, so I am running really late.
Bear – Alphabites £5.38
This new multi grain cereal is free from refined sugar and salt; it instead uses coconut blossom nectar to add that sweet taste. Personally when trying one straight from the box I found it to sweet for my liking, but once added to milk (as it should be) they really tasted nice and I have found myself reaching for them of a morning, making for a great and delicious start to the day. That’s when I finally managed to steal them back from my Mum and Dad’s house as they had taken quite a liking to them as well!
Urban Fruit – Pineapple
If you want to wow me with dried fruit you treat me to either Mango or Pineapple (both of which happen to be choices in the Urban Fruit snack pack range, wouldn’t I have been a sad bunny if I received strawberry!) These are lovely little packs just perfect for popping your pocket or bag when you are on a day out or even as a snack in the home.
Elizabeth Shaw Amaretto Flutes £2.50
This gorgeous rich creamy chocolate treat is just perfect for after dinner or stealing a stick as you have a sup of your favourite drink. The Flutes come in a number of different flavours and I have to admit I would love to try quite a few of them. However the Amaretto ones offer a lovely almond taste to them and are just wonderful in the hot weather we have been having (well they were till my Dad had an accident and threw them all on the floor).
Dr. Oetker Madagascan Vanilla Grinder
Containing around 5 Madagascan vanilla pods this grinder allows you to either distribute fine or coarse pieces, making it perfect for any cake, bake or make you might fancy making over the summer.
Veetee Basmati & Wild rice – £1.49
I’ve popped this rice away for one of those days when we need a quick accompaniment to a meal – there was 3 different varieties that went out in the box, but I have to admit I am really interested to try this one and is does sound delicious and at 2 minutes in the microwave to cook – what’s not to like.
So there you have Julys Degustabox – if you fancy getting your hands on the next one don’t forget to sign up now!
What do you think of this months Degustabox, is it a subscription box you would like to try?

Urban Fruit is just great. It kept me going through my horrendous morning sickness. I like the idea of the box, just depends if it works out cost-effective.
I does look fab but I am sorry, the name puts me off!
I like the idea of the food / drink box.
Nice opportunity to try all these brands I wouldn’t normally pick from the shelve.
I’d love to try a degustabox but I’m so fussy, I would like most of it BUT the strawberry lambrini sounds so nice!! x
There’s a couple of things I Might use, but I think in reality I wouldn’t use half of the stuff int he boxes
I so do love the look of the boxes, would give them ago .x
I like the idea of the box but I don’t think I’d pay for it. Love that vanilla grinder 🙂
Never heard of these boxes before, looks like you got a nice stash of different bits though
I ma not a big fan of these boxes as I always get a couple on ingredients I waste from them. Glad you liked all your stuff in your box
I’m glad you enjoyed july box I would love that vanilla grinder!
I don’t think these boxes are for me, I find them confusing and pointless. I would rather have something which gave me ingredients to be able to make a few meals x
These always look interesting, but in reality I am far too picky x
