Citrus Clear for Sensitive Skin: Review
I hit puberty quite early, by the time I was off to secondary school I had reached as tall as I was ever going to be and my body had changed a lot compared to those of my class mates. One thing that has blighted my life ever since is spots. Back then they covered my face and whatever I did, it just didn’t keep them at bay, as I have got older they may have become less out of control, but I still find them quite persistent in popping up. I have one huge one which often likes to pop up monthly on my chin and my cheeks seem too often be covered in small ones.
Then on top of the fact that I seem to sprout spots at will I also have sensitive skin and so many of the products on the market to treat spot prone skin are quite harsh and I’ve tried some products which have really made my skin quite sore. So when Citrus Clear got in touch about their sensitive range made specifically to tackle acne I just had to give it a try.
They kindly sent me four of the products from the Citrus Clear range, 2 of them are specifically for sensitive skin and the other two aren’t.
Citrus Clear follow the ethos of making your skin clean and then keeping it clear, so they have different items in the range to help achieve these goals. All the items they sell are cruelty free and free of nasties.
Citrus Clear -Sensitive Face Wash
This is lovely gentle cleanser, which is said to wash away oil, dirt and bacteria without striping the skin. Made from organic citrus ingredients including Tahitian lime, so I am sure you can imagine the wonderful smell that this cleanser gives off, which is really uplifting first thing in the morning.
As you may expect from something free of all those nasties, this isn’t a foaming cleanser, instead you get a small amount of white froth as you massage it into your skin. One of my main issues with cleansers is they dry out my skin, yet this one seems to do the exact opposite leaving it feeling cared for and pampered.
Citrus Clear – Sensitive Moisturiser
The best follow up to a good cleanser is of course a moisturiser and following on the citrus path is this delicious smelling sensitive moisturiser, it is once again packed full of botanicals, citrus ingredients and vitamins, which are said to help balance your skins tone.
I was surprised at how light this moisturiser is, making it perfect for use both morning and night. It doesn’t seem to enlarge the pours and works as a great base under make up. I have rather oily skin and I found this didn’t add to the shine I sometimes get throughout the day.
Citrus Clear Pore and Blackhead Extracting Mask
These next two masks aren’t from the sensitive range but depending on your issues they may well be worth buying. First up is this pore and blackhead extracting mask, this one in particular is a clay formulated facial mask which has been mixed with citrus oils and extracts.
To use you apply to the skin and then leave it on for 4 – 8 minutes (or until dry) and then wash away with warm water. It is great for a deep cleanse of the skin and I would suggest it for those who do suffer from blackheads and clogged pores.
Citrus Clear Tangerine Tingle
Last but by no means least is the Tangerine Tingle facial mask -this is my favourite of the two and is used for both exfoliating the skin and stimulating the production of new cells. This mask is rather jelly like and I found is best applied to the skin in a gentle circular motion.
Now you might wonder about the name and this is because when left on the skin for over 30 seconds it starts to tingle, they suggest leaving the product on your face for 2 – 4 minutes, but I would suggest just going with what feels right for you. After use it can leave your skin looking quite red so this definitely not a product to be used right before you head out of the door. But I have found using it around once a week has left my skin feeling smooth and rejuvenated.
So that is the four products I tried from the Citrus Clear range and I have to admit to being pleased with them all, I found they worked well and they didn’t seem to react badly with my skin, so I would definitely be happy to try more products from this brand.

I like the sound of the blackhead and pore mask. I need deep cleansing masks when I do them!
This is really interesting Sarah. I’ve always had sensitive dry skin but not spotty. That said I’m prone to spots once a month thanks to POD. Weird how that happens. Think I’m going to have to re-think what I’m doing 🙂
Citrus for sensitive skin? I wouldn’t have thought that a product with ctitrus in it would have been so sensitive.

These sound great -I love the fact they are really citrusy which I really like, particularly the pink grapefruit scent.
I’ve never heard of this range but I love the packaging (always a good start) sounds like a brilliant product though, I’ve got quite sensitive skin myself! x

I actually use citrus face wipes that work on oily skin really well. I love how fresh and clean products containing citrus smell.

These sound really awesome for a healthy skincare routine. That mask sounds super refreshing.
My skin was terrible in my teens, I took it for granted that by the time I was an ‘adult’ it would all stop but here I am, mid twenties still having breakouts. I’m yet to find anything that works miracles but we can all dream. These look great, I like that they are citrus. I bet they are good for a morning routine x

The smell sounds lovely!! I am always dubious about new beauty products but these seem to do the trick. I’m currently happy with my St Ives scrub but when this bottle runs out I’ll look into other options like these!

Sounds like a totally awesome line of products indeed! I love clay masks. Have never tried the tingle type masks (I’ve heard similar effects to the Citrus Clear one from other brands) but really want to.
I love the smell of citrus in beauty products. It absolutely lifts the mood and reminds me of a tropical destination. This line of products sounds awesome.
