Why Aruba Should Be One of Your Must Travel Destinations
If you are still looking for the perfect place to head on a holiday this year as a couple then let me introduce you to Aruba.
Where is Aruba?
Aruba is a Dutch Caribbean Island and lies just 15 miles north of the South American coastline. This beautiful island boasts an average temperature of 32 degrees, which is complemented by a cooling breeze. If you’re a lover of beaches, then you will adore the fact that Aruba offers 9 miles of award-winning beaches, on the edge of turquoise seas. While away from the beaches you will find colonial Dutch architecture and a Latin vibe.
What can you do in Aruba?
Aruba hosts a wide range of activities for all tastes and adventure levels; these are just a few ideas of adventures that can be taken.
Aruba Aloe Vera Plantation.
For those into skincare, a tour around the Aloe Vera plantation might be of interest, this amazing plant was first introduced to Aruba in 1850, and this plantation is still active on the same 150 acres that the first plant was introduced on. The tour will show you how they change the Aloe Vera leaf into a finished Aruba Aloe Lotion, as well as give you an idea of the history of this plant locally in the on-site museum. Of course, once the tour has ended you can even buy the finished product.
ATV (all-terrain vehicle) Tours.
For those who want to explore the Island in style, an ATV tour might be a perfect idea. Taking to the road on an ATV, experienced tour guides will show you the sights of the island, with many of the guides offering you a choice of the areas you would most like to explore.
Caves.
Along the windswept coasts of Aruba, in deep rocky recesses, visitors can find shallow cave formations to explore. Guadirikiri Cave, for instance, extends around 100 feet, with unusual lighting patterns offered from the holes in the ceiling, while bats nestle in the darker corners. Fontein Cave is perhaps the most interesting of the caves to me, with the ceilings featuring drawings from the native Arawak Indians.
Historic Gold Mines.
For those who love history then the remains of the gold mines may be an interesting place to explore, as they offer an interesting insight to gold prospectors, who helped shape this beautiful island. Back in 1400’s and 1500’s, adventurers arrived in the Carribean looking for treasure. However, it wasn’t until 1824 that gold was actually found and it is in the remains of these mines that you can find. In fact, 3 million pounds of gold was eventually produced on the island.
Of course, that is just a handful of the offerings from Aruba, with golf, spas, horse riding, natural lagoons, beaches and a whole host of nightlife being just a few more.
If you are interested in finding out more about Aruba then do check out this website, while over on Facebook you right now you can be in with the chance of winning yourself a luxury holiday to this beautiful island (competition closes July 14th).

Looks gorgeous!
Hey great tips we are heading there in June so will be using a few of these.
GR
Sarah, that competition mentions the exact hotel my husband & I stayed at 5 years ago. Aruba is one of the most gorgeous destinations I’ve ever visited. Eagle Beach is EXACTLY as it’s shown in brochures-pale fine sand & turquoise sea.No beach hawkers or people hassling to braid your hair. The Bucuti &Tara suites is the only Adult Only resort on the whole island which is why they are always full. I would love to return As we were both ill before we flew and had tail end of influenza on our dream holiday, which marred it a little.
I have been to Aruba once but only for a day.
I worked on a cruise ship at the time and it was a port of call.
It was beautiful and I wish I had been able to see more of it.
I would love to go to Aruba, it’s on my bucket list it looks so beautiful!
