Alrewas Alpacas at 4getmenott Smallholding
There is something wonderful about being around animals, I find it such a calming and relaxing experience, so when I found out about 4getmenott Smallholding and Alrewas Alpacas I was really excited to know more.
I originally found out about them when they were holding a small celebratory open day, to mark their opening. So we headed down and enjoyed the craft stalls and the chance to check out the animals.
However, with my Mum’s birthday on the horizon and one of their offerings being afternoon tea, I knew I had to book in.

Having kept horses in the area for seven years, the owners Neil and Ellie recently decided to add some alpacas to their flock. That also includes sheep, goats, pigs and the most recent additions of pygmy goats.
I’m sure I saw a post saying they are adding chickens soon too.
Location wise the smallholding is set on a 14-acre meadow, that is found in the village of Alrewas, Staffordshire.
Within the smallholding, they have a tame animal zone where you can meet, greet and if you are lucky even feed the Kune pigs, sheep, goats and horses. They will also spend time talking to you about the animals in as much depth as you like and I can speak from experience, they really know their stuff.
Alrewas Alpacas

The animal walking side of the business comes under the name Alrewas Alpacas. This part of the business offers goat and alpaca walks, alongside afternoon teas and informational chats.
You can even rent the alpacas for your wedding if you would like as well.
Walking experiences last around 90 minutes and take you on a mile walk with your newfound friend around the smallholding.

I did speak to them while we were there as well for afternoon tea and they believe they should be able to make the walk wheelchair friendly. Something I am definitely open to trying out myself.
It is worth noting the goats used for walking are large goats, coming in around 3 1/2 – 4 feet tall. You aren’t going to be walking the pygmy goats.
However, all the animals used for the walks are very used to humans and are just a joy to be around.
Afternoon Tea at Alrewas Alpacas

I sadly didn’t take any photos of the afternoon tea, I was just enjoying myself. It was only after I thought about doing a blog post.
However, I can tell you we were absolutely spoiled. Two trays of sandwiches, pork pies and scotch eggs, with crisps as well as tea and coffee, followed up by a huge array of cakes.
With the afternoon tea a meet and greet with all the animals is included. We got to learn all about the animals, their history and the naughty things some of them got up to!
I think we spent nearly two hours there in total. It was such a fun afternoon and well worth the price paid.

I’ve been asking everyone I know now if they want to go, as it is definitely an experience I would like to go to again.
If you live locally or don’t mind the journey, I definitely suggest Alrewas Alpacas at 4getmenott Smallholding. If you would like to find out more about them, do visit their website or Facebook page.
Does this sound like an experience you would like to take part in?

They are such funny animals, you can do this near me in Kent. We should go soon as the children would love it. Great fun.
I just love that pic of the goat playing on the trampoline. Such beautiful animals and looks as if you had a nice day out.
It was a really nice day out I have to say – I am looking forward to going back.
This looks really fun and really great for the kids, be good to try and find somewhere near me.
There seem to be different ones popping up around the country now so I’m sure you will find something close!
Sounds like an excellent place for young children and I think it is really important that children grow up in contact with animals of different types and learn life lessons from them.
Yes animals have so much to teach us, don’t they! You can totally be any age to enjoy spending time with them as well.
Aw that sounds like such a lovely afternoon! There’s a place near us that does alpaca waking but I’ve never seen goat walking. I absolutely adore goats! I can imagine taking them for a walk would be very entertaining!!
I know! We are going back to do some walking soon with a friend so I might have to update with how that goes!
I would love some Alpacas! Just wish I had a big enough garden!
It used to be my dream to have a small holding it would be so lovely!
I would love to try this experience and I am sure the grandchildren would enjoy it too
Definitely, I’m sure it is perfect for kids as well!
This looks SO much fun I would love to meet some alpacas!!
They are the best! It’s such a nice experience to just be with animals at times I think.
I love a goat but on my last encounter he chewed my new jacket hmm
Oh no! They do like to nibble at anything and everything don’t they.
I love being animals too. I find it amazing how just being around animals can make my kids calm and gentle too. It also teaches them empathy. We went to Richmond park in London last weekend and we spent ages just watching and being around the deers and ducks. Sadly we’re not local enough to visit Alrewas Alpacas but it looks fantastic. I love a good afternoon tea too
It is amazing how it can make you feel just being around an animal, isn’t it? It sounds like you had a lovely time at Richmond Park, and if you ever by any chance end up in the area you know where to go now 😉
How wonderful and is a win win and so cute. I am lucky that I get to walk my wife most days ……..
Definitely, I am all for spending time with animals they make me feel so much better.
