A’kin Lemon Myrtle Hand Wash: Review
Hand washes – to some they are just a tool that we need to use multiple times per day, something that as long as it does that job that’s all that matters, to me though they are something more. I’m not sure when this change took place, when I seemed to become somewhat obsessed by the hand wash I used – perhaps it was when I used one I really disliked (I still remember the icky after feeling left on my hands), so of course when I saw this bottle by A’kin I just had to try it.
A’kin Lemon Myrtle Hand Wash
I’ve long loved A’kin (who were in fact first sold in the UK by My Pure) they offer natural products, with this one in particular also being suitable for vegans, not tested with animals and of course as with all products sold on the My Pure website it is free from SLS and Parabens.
From this Australian brand comes a botanical hand wash containing Australian-grown Lemon Myrtle Oil, this oil has be carefully chosen from its anti-bacterial properties, which has been carefully mixed with a range of hand softening, skin-kind cleansing and stimulating aromatherapy oils.
The pump is designed to pump out just the right amount in one go to clean your hands and it offers up a fresh, but not to over powering lemon scent.
If you are used to buying your everyday supermarket hand wash you will find this doesn’t foam as much as you are used to, but it does really cut through any dirt and grime and after use my hands felt really clean.
Personally I have been really impressed with this hand wash – I often find my hands suffer with the drying effects caused by many hand washes, this one however, seems to have the opposite effect leaving my hands feeling moisturised.
The price of this gem of a hand wash is £10.00 (on sale at the moment for £8.50) for 240ml, putting it above an everyday price point, so while I would love to have this in my bathroom all the time it just isn’t cost affective for me – however, when I have visitors coming or just because, once in a blue moon, I may have to treat myself to bottle.
If you fancy trying A’kin Lemon Myrtle Hand Wash you can of course get hold of it from My Pure.
What do you think of the sound of this hand wash, would you like to try it?

It sounds gorgeous, especially having lemon in it. However, like you, spending up near the £10 mark for a handwash is for a rare, occasional treat not a daily purchase.
Lemon is great for the skin. That looks like a great product to try.
Yes I want it! My hands need natural soaps or else they freak out on me. Seriously- gonna go hunt this one down!
Winter is so harsh on my daughters hands. I need to look into something like this that won’t dry her hands out and leaves them soft. Sounds like a great product for her.
This sounds awesome! For once i would love to wash my hands with a moisturizing soap & actually have them be moisturized instead of dried out.
This hand wash sounds delightful. Thanks for sharing this great review.
I love that this hand wash is natural. I wash my hands often since I’m a teacher and I could use a product like this one that will be kinder to my skin.
I love washing my hands with anything lemon-scented. This sounds incredibly awesome! I love that it’s natural!
I love a good hand wash that smells fresh and isn’t drying. The cheap stuff seems to be very drying so I’m willing to spend a little more from time to time.
I would love to try it. I like lemon in my hand wash because I know it will take away offensive cooking smells like fish or onions. I love the way it is packaged too!
Love a fancy bottle by the sink, looks nice and bet it smells lovely.
Okay, this is funny, but I like the bottle 🙂 For that reason alone I would buy it LOL
Terrific review. I have tons of different hand washes at the house but always willing to try new ones. Especially ones that smell like lemon. Will be checking this one out for sure. Thank you.
I’m always on the lookout for a good hand wash that is natural and non drying although this is a little expensive for me.
I would definitely like to try this! I am constantly washing my hands and they get dry and irritated but this looks so cool and refreshing and with such a great review how could I resist! Thanks so much for sharing this!
I think this is such a great product! I definitely love fruit scented hand washes, and this lemon-scented one seems perfect! I may give it a try really soon 🙂 x
I like a hand soap that leaves my skin soft. This sounds like it would be perfect. I bet it smells great too!
I like that the pump is designed to give you as much as you need. And I’m a fan of lemon scents. I’d definitely give it a try!
I would like to try this. It doesn’t seem like it would be harsh.
I could live with the lighter foam if it does the job at cleaning. It sounds like it does, so I’ll look for that!
It sounds like it would smell amazing. I love fresh and fun hand soaps.
This hand wash sounds great! I have to check it out. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Sounds like a good product – as a piano teacher clean hands are important. Sticky keys are not nice!
Interesting product I bet it smells good as well Will have to check them out.
I bet it smells great. With a house full of little boys, we go through A LOT of hand wash!
I bet it smells great. I will have to check it out!
I’ve never used a product like this before, I would love to try it!
Sounds like a great hand wash. I like that it’s natural. It’s funny that you mention that it doesn’t foam up when washing hands. That was my pet peeve when I first started using natural products. I was used to that foaminess and used to think the products were working if they didn’t foam up. LOL
I would definitely like to try it, great review! I love a nice lemon scent but the ‘hand softening, skin-kind cleansing’ part makes it even more appealing! Thanks 🙂
