Review: Sherpa Adventure Gear Tarcho Printed Full Zip Fleece (Black Cloud)
AD – I was sent a Tarcho Printed Full Zip Fleexe for consideration on my blog.
There’s something nice about finding a fleece that just feels right from the first moment you put it on. Warm, soft, not too heavy, not too flimsy, just that perfectly balanced layer we all reach for when the weather can’t make up its mind. And living in the UK, well, that’s most days, isn’t it?
Lately, I’ve been trying out the Sherpa Adventure Gear Tarcho Printed Full Zip Fleece in the beautiful Black Cloud colourway. And honestly? It’s a must for this winter.
First Impressions

Right out of the bag, it felt like a quality fleece, not one of those you often come across, which tends to go bobbly after two washes or sheds fluff everywhere like a moulting dog. The fleece has a lovely, brushed softness to it and a comforting weight to it, which helps it feel both warm and sturdy without being bulky.
The design is inspired by Tarcho, the colourful prayer flags found throughout the Himalayas and that alone already gives this piece a bit of story and heart. Sherpa Adventure Gear don’t just make clothing, they actively support communities. Such as helping to fund education programmes via Room to Read’s Nepal Education Program, via a donation with every purchase made. So the fleece doesn’t just look thoughtful; it is thoughtful.
Fit & Feel
This is a classic fit, meaning it sits nicely no matter if you wear it over a T-shirt or layer under a jacket. The rib cuff and hem add shape, and the full zip makes it easy to adjust depending on how warm (or cold!) the day decides to be.
The fleece fabric is 100% recycled polyester, which is a big tick if you’re trying to be a little kinder to the planet without sacrificing comfort. And yes, it really is soft. Very “I’m just going to keep this on for the rest of the day” soft.
Features I Love
- Secure pockets (including a zip one!) great for keys, phone, dog treats, emergency snack. You know, life essentials.
- Versatility – good for walks, coffee runs, cosy evenings on the sofa.
- Meaningful details – the print has significance rather than just being “a pattern”.
Performance in Real Life

I’ve worn it:
- In the garden
- To appointments
- Out in my wheelchair
- Curled up inside watching TV
And it held up beautifully in all situations, warm but not stuffy, easy to wear and easy to wash.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
Warm, soft, comfortable
Full-zip makes it easy to layer and adjust
Has pockets that actually hold things
Sustainably made with recycled polyester
Supports fair employment in Nepal
Cons:
It is on the pricier side at £130, so definitely more of a buy once and wear on repeat piece rather than an impulse bargain; however, long term, you might just save money by buying quality.
The print won’t be everyone’s style (but personally, I love it)
If you prefer oversized or very fitted fleeces, you may want to double-check the sizing chart before ordering
Who It’s Perfect For
If you’re someone who:
- Wants to buy quality pieces for their wardrobe that will last
- Loves cosy layers
- Appreciates brands that genuinely give back
- Likes clothing that’s functional and has a bit of personality
Then honestly, this fleece will hit the mark.
Final Thoughts

This feels like the kind of piece I’ll still be reaching for long after those fast-fashion fleeces have given up on life. It’s warm, well-made, meaningful and just nice to wear. For me, that’s a win.
