Skincare & Beauty Routine Changes to Consider in Your 30s
Today I welcome Petra from A Mum Reviews who is here to talk about how you should consider making these changes to your skincare and beauty routine in your 30s!
It seems that each decade of life comes with lots of changes. Our lives and circumstances change and, with age, so do our skincare requirements. In this article, we’ll explore skincare and beauty routine changes to consider in your 30s. From facial skincare to haircare to care from within – let’s get started.
Skincare Updates for your 30s

In your 30s, hormone levels decrease. Collagen and elastin production lowers, and so does the cell turnover. You’re likely to have some fine lines and another common issue at this stage is skin dehydration. There are plenty of great products that you can use and habits to incorporate into your skincare routine though – you just need to put a bit more effort into your skincare routine in your 30s compared to your 20s.
The main areas to focus on is to ensure your skin is moisturised well and to protect it from sun damage. Opt for rich cleansing balms or oils for cleansing your skin, follow with hyaluronic acid to lock in moisture, and then apply a good eye cream and a nourishing face cream. For daytime, always choose a cream with SPF, all year round.
Don’t forget to do your skincare all the way down to and including your decolletage. Pop any excess products on the back of your hands to give this area a pamper. Don’t forget the back of your hands when applying SPF either. The decolletage and hands are two of the first areas to show signs of aging so it’s a good idea to include these in your skincare routine.
Once or twice a week, use an exfoliating acid to keep skin fresh and smooth.
Make-Up Overhaul

On the other hand, less is definitely more when it comes to make-up as you get older. Heavier makeup products and powder products are actually likely to make your skin look older. Keep things light for a fresh and healthy look.
Mixing a couple of drops your foundation with your moisturiser is a great way to achieve light coverage and even out your complexion without having heavy products sitting on your skin.
Keep things light when it comes to the rest of your make-up too. A little bit of mascara, a touch of blush, and a bit of highlighter teamed with a tinted lip balm is a great way to create a beautiful, fresh, and youthful look. You can strategically place your blush and highlighter for a bit of a lift too.
Hair Care Changes

Our hair changes as we get older too and a common concern for women in their 30s is thinning hair. It’s also common that hair doesn’t grow as long anymore and this can also be because of age and hormones, but also stress.
For fuller and healthier hair in your 30s, take supplements designed for hair health to help it along.
Now is also a great time to start looking after your scalp, which is an often-forgotten area that is so important for healthy hair growth. You can do this by incorporating scalp massage into your routine. You can use specific oils or serums for this, and also use scalp cleansing products before washing your hair.
Beauty Starts from the Inside

It’s a saying that holds a lot of truth – beauty really does start from the inside and in many ways too. A healthy diet full of fresh fruit and vegetables, healthy fats, and whole grains, as well as plenty of water, will make a big difference to the health of your skin and hair (and the rest of your body too!). You can give your body a boost with the right kinds of supplements such as collagen powders too.
Equally important – for beauty and health reasons – is ensuring that you get plenty of sleep, exercise regularly, and reduce stress levels. A well-rounded skincare approach includes internal nourishment, proper rest, and advanced treatments. The best red light therapy mask offers a hands-free way to rejuvenate your skin, boosting collagen, reducing inflammation, and smoothing fine lines with the power of LED light therapy. All of this combined will help you feel good. This feeling of wellbeing will shine through, making you look great too.
Conclusion
The tips in the article will help your skin and hair look healthier and more youthful, but they’re not really about looking a certain way. Instead, the advice is about ensuring that you are confident and comfortable so that you can enjoy feeling like yourself at all stages of your life.
