A few weeks ago I had a book drop through my letterbox with my blog name on it and as I can’t read books anymore I thought it would be fun to tell you all about the synopsis and then let one of you have the chance to win it!

Ali Kurmi, at the age of 16, was banished to the southern coast by his father in order to “protect the family name” and he was asked never to return. Now finding himself in his thirties and forced to work as an unofficial bailiff for his father’s property company, Ali finds solace in his passion for songwriting and DJing.
Determined to break into the music industry, Ali invests all his money into recording his songs. His love for 70s and 80s music leads him to DJ at corporate events, where he encounters a captivating older woman.
Laura O’Brien, recently inherited a substantial fortune following the tragic death of her husband Frank, an acclaimed Irish racehorse breeder. She is determined to steer clear of returning to the bottle to cope and as such leaves Tipperary behind and starts anew in Hampshire, with the idea of using her newfound fortune for good.
However, the happiness of this unlikely couple and their plans to launch Ali’s music career are soon in trouble. Ali becomes entangled in a web of blackmail orchestrated by his own father and unwittingly crosses paths with a dangerous drug cartel. While Laura also faces troubles of her own, particularly with her dangerous stepdaughter who is hell-bent on revenge.

Gethyn Jones
Having spent 30 years as a producer, presenter and journalist, mainly with BBC local radio and later in commercial radio and community TV. Gethyn is a songwriter and producer, having worked with JUGG Music who have provided music for a range of BBC and ITV programmes. He also has experience in web design and has run his own company since 2005.
Recently inspired by new audio technology, Gethyn hatched a plan to combine his skills and set out to work on a trilogy – Fatal Equation which would be a music album, TV drama proposal and novel. Of which the novel is the first to arrive.

David Pelzer – A boy called it… I’ve read it so many times, its such a sad story, but wanting to read his brothers book so re reading the series before.
I am reading Ruby Wax’s latest book I’m Not As Well as I Thought I Would and it’s really interesting
I am reading we begin at the end by Chris Whitaker which is an intriguing story of murders over many years which are intertwined. I’m nearly finished and so enjoying it.

I’m busy studying at the moment, so I’m ready lots of chapters from books on youth work!
I’m not reading anything at the moment as I have bad hayfever and I can’t see very well right now. I’m looking forward to hayfever season being over so that I can see properly again and hopefully get back into reading again!
Sounds very gripping but sadly I know I won’t be able to read this either. Probably wait for the TV drama as it does sound very good. Therefore I won’t be entering this competition but thank you for the opportunity to.
I am reading a book called The Retreat about a spa resort set on an island just in the sea by Devon where lots of people are getting killed! Jury is still out whether I like it because it is so implausible with too many coincidences and every character has lost a sibling, parent or partner so it should be called Bereavement Island I think!
Voice of the Gods by Trudi Canavan. I love her books. Really enjoying it.
I am re-reading the Seven Sisters series by Lucinda Riley. I don’t often re-read books but having finished the last book in the series I wanted to read the stories again with a new perspective, and yes I loved all the books.
