Maltesers Dark Review
PR Sample – I was sent some Maltesers Dark for consideration on my blog.
Have you ever been eating Maltesers and thought, these would be great coated in dark chocolate rather than milk? Well, unsurprisingly you weren’t alone. Maltesers actually admit this is one of their most requested flavours and they are finally bringing it to the market to allow people to try it.
Maltesers Dark
Storming onto the market back in June, Maltesers Dark boasts 65% cocoa and 30% less sugar. Offer up a rich smooth dark chocolate coating over that much-loved malted milk centre.
The dark chocolate market has lately seen 15% growth going on as more people switch to dark for their chocolate fix. As such it is little surprise we are seeing our old favourites bring out their twist on the dark trend.
Recently unleashed onto the UK market these chocolates are available in a range of sizes. From single packs (66p) to more to share bags (£2.79) all now coming in this dark chocolate version.
What Did We Think of Maltesers Dark?
Personally, I’m not a huge fan of dark chocolate, I often find it overpowering and as such just don’t enjoy the experience. However, I was pleasantly surprised by these chocolates, I found that when combined with the malted milk centre it actually made a delicious treat.
On the flip side, my parents have always chosen dark chocolate over milk so I was interested in getting their take. They both agreed that for them the dark chocolate version was so much better than the milk. Offering a delicious, smooth creamy chocolate.
As such, if you are on the fence or love dark chocolate I think Maltesers Dark is a must-try treat.

My favourite way to enjoy Maltesers is in winter, cosy on the sofa, candles and fire lit, watching a Christmas movie. They are such a comfort food.
I would share them with my partner as they are his absolute favourite.
I like to put in fridge first, then put one in mouth gently biting down to crack the chocolate coating and remove it, eat it, then suck on the inside allowing it to melt. I share with my self.

I love to suck on a Malteser whilst reading. I am not a huge fan of chocolate but I’ve loved these since I was very young. Not sure about the dark chocolate but as to sharing…..that’s a definite no…although I have been known to give hubby my last Rolo!

They look enticing but also calorific – I know Maltesers generally have lower calories than rival chocolates but generally I eat more of them.

I love Maltesers, but I’ve never tried the dark variety. I would make a cheesecake and utilise them in one.

Maltesers were our family Christmas day breakfast tradition, rolling them over the carpet to the kids as they opened their pressies. We would also take a small box to the cinema. Now I use them for decorating birthday cakes & munching share bags at the cinema! Hubby loves dark choc so he will think all his dreams have come true when he finds out about these!

Like you I have always prefer milk over dark and sometimes white above all of them. But hearing how the malted milk centre has helped with the bitterness of dark has made me curious to try. If I don’t like it I will just give it to my husband who has always preferred dark over milk, haha
