December 21st – Life After a Lockdown #90
Well what a week, Johnsons had more parties, while the rest of us were struggling in lockdown. However, of course, it wasn’t that, it was a business meeting, with wine, cheese and his wife. Make of it what you will.
There seem to be meetings daily, with the threat of another lockdown being held over our heads. My worry is how many people will bother to even try, considering all the things coming out about our government.
That said on the whole people do seem to have gone back to wearing masks and being more socially distanced, at least locally.
On With The Linky!
Starting off I must say a huge thank you to Bex from Futures for joining me each week as my co-host and of course Jenni at Lyrical Host (affiliate link) for kickstarting the idea!
If you would like to take part, it’s simple:
We ask that you give both Bex and I a link back in your post, as hosts of the linkup and you can copy the questions below.
After that; all you need to do is pop back to mine or Bex’s post and add your link in the inlinkz.
1. How are you feeling/coping?but
2. What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?
3. What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?
4. What tips do you have for others when out and about?
5. What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
6. What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
7. What has made you smile this week?
8. Anything else you would like to mention?

So what did week 90 hold:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
I’m a bit overwhelmed with all the news again. It seems to be a mix between Omicron isn’t that bad, and the other side saying we need to lockdown.
It has been nice to see such big queues for the boosters, I will admit I’ve not had mine yet, I will be though.
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?
I had a few mental health phone calls last week, I’ve been asked to try a day lamp as I struggle over the winter the most. While also seeing if my doctor can check if I may have sleep apnea. Always fun to be checked for new things.
I was also meant to speak to my GP, however, I had a bit of a boo-boo with that, I was told it would be late morning. However, they phoned first thing and I had knocked my phone on silent. I feel absolutely awful about it.
4) What tips do you have for others when out and about?
Just try and keep yourself safe, don’t worry about what other people do. I know sometimes it is easier said than done.
5) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
I think this bracelet is absolutely stunning so it has to be my CARAT* London review. I love that they use lab-grown gemstones as well.
6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
Being warm and cosy inside, I’ve been struggling with cold hands and feet especially so being able to have the heating on is a huge thing. Something which I know I am lucky to be able to do, especially with the prices going up.
7) What has made you smile this week?
My neighbour just popped round with a card and a plant and it made me smile – it was such a lovely thing for them to have done.
8) Anything else you would like to mention?

Strange to look back now and see these posts when we have more daily cases than ever
Feel happy at the moment, trying to keep fit.
Good luck with your trying to keep fit have you started doing anything new for this year?
Like is ok, my mum tested positive over Christmas, but is now ok, though we had to open presents in 2 rooms with the door between them shut, lucky it is a glass door so we could see through it.
Oh no I am so sorry your Mum tested positive – I am so glad she is OK no though.
Life is ok, my fiance just tested positive but feels ok, im just glad it happened after christmas
Oh no, I do hope your fiance is OK! Sending positive thoughts!
Finding life tricky because I can’t get hold of lateral flow tests – so worried about visiting older folk now 🙁
Oh no I hope you manage to get hold of some soon and feel a bit safer.
Life is ok I’ve had my booster and we was not planning on much this Christmas anyway so I’m good
That sounds like you have things planned out, glad you have had your booster.
We definitely need to learn to live with this virus, we can’t keep locking down. I feel sorry for the government because they get criticised if the lock down and criticised if they don’t
It’s hard to know exactly what the right thing to do is, but I think listening to the experts is a good first step.
I have a feeling that this will never go away and we’ll all have to get used to it as the norm.
I have a feeling it will be something we will come to live with as well. I hope that it might get weaker over time though.
