Come Rain or Shine: Creating A Garden You Can Enjoy All Year Round
We would all love the dream garden. Something that looks beautiful, is practical and does not take up too much time in terms of maintenance and upkeep. However, what ruins it for many people is that they spend much of the spring and summer making it look great and by the time it’s finished, the weather has changed. No one wants to be sitting in the garden when it is pouring down with rain or freezing cold. However, the ideal weather conditions for enjoying a garden can be hard to come by, especially if you live in Great Britain, meaning that your outdoor space can go unused much of the year.
It doesn’t have to be that way though. With some careful planning and creativity, and a few cool additions, you can make your garden a place to enjoy, whatever the weather.
Decking.
If your garden is mainly grass, if it has been raining, you probably won’t want to use the garden. There’s nothing worse than stumbling over a wet and muddy lawn and falling over it, and your outdoor furniture can end up sinking into it. Then composite decking could make for a perfect addition to your garden. It means you can use the garden, whatever the weather, by putting in an area of decking. Keep it maintained and keep it looking at its best by regular oiling and staining.
Swimming pool.
The idea of jumping in a cold swimming pool is always enticing when it is scorching hot outside. It could be worth getting a pool added if you live in an area that frequently experiences warm weather. That way, without going inside, you will be able to cool down. A swimming pool can be a lot of fun if you have a family to consider. If you have one, the kids will spend even more time outside! Bear in mind that keeping a pool running properly requires a fair amount of cleaning and maintenance. Before you (literally!) leap in, do a little research into water pumps and chlorine and everything else involved.
Hot tub.
A hot tub could suit you better if it is always cold where you are. When there is frost all over, there is something special about relaxing in the warm water. It is also a great party feature! If you are not particularly keen on the idea of getting a permanent hot tub installed, you could opt for a portable or an inflatable one instead. That way, you won’t have to worry about installation.
Heater.
Do you disregard your garden sometimes because it is so cold outside? Investing in a garden heater is a perfect way to make the most of your room in the cold months! In a cold garden, knowing that you can stay warm would give you no justification not to go outside. There is plenty of options available, from fire pits and wood burners to patio heaters. Imagine sitting outside in the winter around the heater with a steaming mug of hot chocolate – bliss!
