  1. Sarah, that competition mentions the exact hotel my husband & I stayed at 5 years ago. Aruba is one of the most gorgeous destinations I’ve ever visited. Eagle Beach is EXACTLY as it’s shown in brochures-pale fine sand & turquoise sea.No beach hawkers or people hassling to braid your hair. The Bucuti &Tara suites is the only Adult Only resort on the whole island which is why they are always full. I would love to return As we were both ill before we flew and had tail end of influenza on our dream holiday, which marred it a little.

  2. I have been to Aruba once but only for a day.
    I worked on a cruise ship at the time and it was a port of call.
    It was beautiful and I wish I had been able to see more of it.

  10. Two years ago we went to St Lucia for a huge family holiday. We has also looked at Aruba as an option. Now I’ve done St Lucia, Aruba is back on the bucket list as out next destination!!

  12. Aruba doesn’t really come to mind when looking for a travel destination but with those places to visit and things to do, this should be on my bucket list.

    1. It hadn’t come to mind for me before either, but it is totally on my bucket list now, they have such amazing things to do.

  15. Of the ABC islands, I have seen Bonaire and Curacao. Aruba is the only one that is left for me. You can bet that I will be visiting here as soon as I can.

  16. I’m not much of a beach person because I simply burn & peel. So I definitely liked your stories about the aloe plantation & gold mining, which I would definitely visit if my family wanted to spend some time in Aruba.

    1. I like the beach but not for hours, I couldn’t just lay down, I like to get out and see the sights as well.

  19. This does sound like its right up my street! i love it hot but only if there is breeze of good air con so it would certainly be a tick on my list.

    I also love the sound of the beaches too. I am a total beach person on holiday and missed it on my last trip

    1. The breeze makes it sound so good to me, I can’t do heat but a breeze can really help so it sounds like somewhere I could manage to go.

    1. It would be perfect for a romantic getaway they offer so many things to do, I think some spa time would be great.

    1. It looks like somewhere so different from the normal Caribbean vibe doesn’t it, but still like a little piece of paradise.

  26. Aruba is a place we’ve always wanted to visit. It would be so nice to relax in a place beautiful. I know my husband would love snorkeling, and for me sitting on the beach watching the sunset. Also it would be fun to visit the plantations and gold mines! I had no idea there was so much to do

  29. Aruba is one of the many destinations that I have not been but would really like to travel to. I have heard that it is such an amazing place but more along the side for romantic getaways. Definitely a future escape to take for me.

  31. I have friends that have been to Aruba. I would love to go if we get the chance. The beaches are really beautiful. I had no idea they had caves there. They definitely sound interesting to me. My husband loves history so he would be a fan of the gold mines. Thanks for some of these activity ideas.

  33. Aruba is definitely on my Places to Visit list. I didn’t know there was an Aloe Vera Plantation and historic gold mines on the island. We are always looking for something out of the ordinary to do while on vacation and these activities are up to par.

    1. It is amazing all the things there, I kept finding more and more things I wanted to include I could have gone on for pages I am sure of it.
