Laser Hair Removal: Infographic
There are many reasons why people may want laser hair removal and they might be medical or they might be personal, but did you know that not everyone can actually have it done? I personally have to admit I hadn’t thought about what may or may not allow you to have a treatment such as this. So I was interested to check out an infographic, which goes into details about why and when you may not be able to have laser hair removal.
Personally I’ve often wondered about having it done, partly as well, shaving is an utter pain and secondly I still have some hang up from my past. While when I look in a mirror I can see I don’t have a moustache, having been told over and over I did for so long has had a lasting effect on me.
This particular infographic was put together by the ProSkin Clinic, a company who specialise in laser treatments, such as hair removal and tattoo removal.
I was interested to see that 17% of laser hair removal patients were male; to me this seemed higher than I had expected. For some reason I assumed it was a practice that was completely dominated by women, bar perhaps the odd 2 or 3 percent.
When it came to hair colours dictating if you could have laser hair removal or not, it did actually surprise me at first. However, once I thought about it, it actually started to make sense, especially when it came to lighter hair colours.
I was also surprised to see that both sunbeds and fake tan has to be avoided in the weeks leading up to having laser hair removal, however sadly I wasn’t surprised to see on average women spend over £7,000 on hair removal over their lifetime. After all razors alone are expensive and that’s without adding in the costs of waxing and plucking from the local salon (I am awful at doing my own eyebrows).

This was very helpful as I do not know a lot about laser hair removal. I didn’t know all the factors like age and hair color that play a role in it.
I would so like to give laser hair removal a try. The costs keep putting me off 🙁
ahh no way I didn’t realise I couldn’t get hair removal with light blonde hair that’s my face & legs out of the picture then!
I’ve known women to have their underarm hair surgically removed so they didn’t have to shave anymore. I’m not sure its worth the money for me to do it, when it takes seconds in the shower to shave that area.
There is some really interesting points there I have been considering laser treatment for upper lip but can’t pluck up the courage to do it.
I never realised it is unsuitable for so many people, lucky I am totally suitable, I would love to have it done one day it’s up there with laser eye surgery.

Lazor hair removal has always been something I’ve wanted to do. I just never get around to it lol… Who knew there was so much to consider before doing it?
Oooh this is a really interesting post for me because I have been thinking about having laser hair removal after my 3 year old keeps telling me my legs are ‘spicy” when he means spiky. Ha! H x
Fortunately, I don’t have much hair to remove so I haven’t gotten around checking what laser hair removals are all about.

I am happy to have discovered how convenient laser hair removals are. This happened in 2014. I hate shaving so I go to waxing salons but I sometimes find that I need to do extra effort for it. Laser Hair Removals are heaven-sent. It’s worth the investment.

I have been curios about laser hair removal. Shaving has been my nemesis since I started having back problems and fibromyalgia. I hate to admit but I went a good 6 months without shaving bc getting into and out of the bath was too hard.
I would love to try laser hair removal, I am not sure if I would be good or not, I would have to investigate further. Thank you for sharing all this info!
That’s really interesting indeed. I recently heard that because I was dark that I wasn’t a good option for laser hair removal, but this is saying that I am. I want to check it out because I hate shaving so I wax and it would certainly save me a LOT of money in the long run.

great chart to inform everyone about whether they are a good candidate for the hair removal… I might have to check into this, never having to shave my legs and all would be perfect!

If I could afford to I would have my legs done because it is a pain having to shave all the time and it would be nice to have them hair free without effort.

I had no idea there were so many conditions to be met before having laser hair removal. It’s something I’d like to do, for convenience, but it’s just out of our price budget right now and I couldn’t justify it X
