5 ways to cosy up your home for Autumn
While I’m still hoping that summer might arrive, the truth is it is now September, the nights are really starting to draw in and it’s starting to feel just a little bit nippy of an evening; so while it is still warm enough to think about it without it being a quick it’s so cold job, it is a good time to start cosying up your home, ready for the winter and here are 5 tips for getting your home winter ready.
1. Fairy Lights.
Twinkle Twinkle little lights, how you make the room look nice. I’m not a huge fan of harsh lighting and adding touches like fairy lights can help make a softer ambience around the room.
2. Blankets.
We all know our gas and electric bills go up in winter thanks to needing the heating on, but try and keep it off for as long as you can by donning extra layers and treating yourself to a nice blanket or two. They are just perfect for snuggling under while you watch a film or catch up on a good book as well.
3. A new table.
When it comes to winter I always love having a cup of tea, a book and perhaps a lamp nearby and to be honest with you my side tables are looking a little dodgy so I could just imagine upgrading to a beautiful oak table to hold all my must have goodies close by.
4. Candles.
While fairy lights help start bring a softer light to the room, this can be added to by the addition of candles, which not only help with a little bit of light but can also bring a wonderful scent and warm to the room. A favourite of mine when it comes to autumn is Fireside Treats by Yankee Candles.
5. A warm crackling fire.
Ok this one is probably an in my dreams one, but I would adore an open fire, the sounds, smells and warmth, I’m not sure anything can quite compare to that.
So that’s my five ideas, but what about you, how are you looking to get your home cosy of winter?
