7 Ways to Make Money Online for Beginners
AD
A 9-to-5 job gives you security, but it does not give you freedom. If you are one of those people looking for ways to make money online, then there are ten things you can consider today!
All these ways to make money online work. They are legitimate, but some of them can be really challenging. Nevertheless, it is up to you to decide on that!
7 Ways to Make Money Online If You Are a Beginner
1. Virtual Assistant

Virtual assistant (VA) is a general term for online workers who perform tasks at home. The word “virtual” is indicative that they do not have to be physically present in the office to do the work.
Here are some of the things they do:
- Make phone calls and do cold selling
- Read emails and respond to them
- Set appointments
- Process online sales
- Provide customer service
You will find VA jobs on many freelancing sites. The issue you will face is that this is not really an employment set-up. You will not receive paid vacation leaves or any other typical work benefits. The money you earn depends on your skills. The minimum pay, is typically around minimum wage.
2. Freelance Writing
There are three main things people consume on the internet:
- Photos
- Videos
- Texts
The third one is where you come in. You can write blog posts, listicles, technical instructions, and news and get paid for it. The amount of money you can earn depends on your skill level and the complexity of the task.
To find writing jobs, you can place bids on sites like UpWork, and Fiverr, or apply directly to companies through Indeed, Flexjobs, and LinkedIn.
3. Dropshipping
Dropshipping is a popular way to make money online because it is easy to set up. With dropshipping, you sell a supplier’s products in your store, but you do not pay for the product right away.
Dropshipping works this way:
- You look for a product that you can sell
- You post this product in your store
- Once a customer buys from you, you order it from the seller (supplier)
- Pay the supplier, and he will ship the item to your buyer
In a way, dropshipping is still a retail business, but you do it online with no physical store. Among all these ways to make money online, dropshipping is the only one that can earn you a lot of money (more on this later).
4. Video Editing

YouTubers and streamers are not really great at video editing. They need video editors to put together their raw videos and convert these videos into one cohesive show.
Here are the things you will do with video editing:
- Cut parts that are not essential to the video
- Follow the storyboard
- Color-grading
- Adding effects (both visual and sound)
You cannot edit videos without video editing software. This can be expensive too, considering that the best ones are only available on a subscription basis. However, there are free alternatives to these paid programs, and one of the best is Da Vinci Resolve.
5. Buy and Sell Goods
The oldest method to make money online is to buy and sell goods. You can buy products in wholesale terms, have them shipped to your house, and then sell them on:
- eBay
- Amazon
- Etsy
- Your store
The issue here is capital. Since this is traditional retail done online, you need boatloads of cash to pay for the goods. Even if you buy them at wholesale prices, you will need thousands of dollars to be able to purchase multiple variants.
6. Content Creation (YouTube, Twitch, and Blog)

People think that the only way to earn money on YouTube and Twitch is via ads. This assumption is not correct. Here are some more ways to make money online by being a creator:
- Paid sponsorships
- Donations
- Membership fees
You can be a dropshipper and an affiliate marketer, too. If you have seen YouTubers selling merch, these items are not really their merchandise. Rather, these are print-on-demand dropshipping goods. The others who promote products, like DIY tools, photography kits, and soft boxes, are very likely to be affiliate marketers.
7. Online Tutor
You can be an online tutor for so many things. Here are some examples:
- Language tutor
- Elementary, high school, and college subjects
- Personal coaching, successful coaching
- Specialised skills like photography and computer programming
To find tutoring work, you can create a LinkedIn profile and market your skills from there. You can also create an account on freelancing sites like Fiverr and look for clients on these platforms, and these days it is so simple to find maths tutors online, as well as tutors for other subjects. You can really branch out and work your own hours.
Best Way to Make Money Online: Dropshipping
Of all these choices, dropshipping is the best one because of the following:
- Scalability
- Tools for support
- Profit control
Dropshipping is a scalable business because you can keep on adding products without buying them. It is so different from what most people recommend, which is Amazon FBA. In dropshipping, just find a supplier, like Tradelle, and post all their goods to your store, and you are in business!
For tools, you only need a web host that has a payment processor. The most recommended host or program is Shopify. However, you can also dropship on Amazon and Etsy if you want.
Then, there are affordable tools like Tradelle where you can:
- Find winning products and import them to your store
- Automate the whole process of dropshipping
- Track the orders or products after they get shipped
- Source products
Tradelle is a dropshipping system that offers multiple benefits. With it, you no longer need to manually find products and suppliers. The system has a list of products that show you the demand, capital, supplier, and potential profit.
Automation is a key aspect of dropshipping. In the past, dropshippers had to contact the supplier before the item got shipped. This was cumbersome. With Tradelle, the order from your customer goes to the supplier, and the whole process moves along.
Another big benefit of Tradelle is the product importation tool. You do not have to manually copy and paste images, and product descriptions to your store. You can do this transfer in one click.

Wow – this is genuinely so useful and concise – well written, too 🙂
Thank you so much that is very kind of you!
A really interesting post, something definitely worth looking into
I hope if you decide to give one of them a go it goes well for you.
interesting post, I did not know about these opportunities. For the VA type work I would recommend signing up with a reputable agency who depending on your skills could get you a better rate.
There are lots of things out there to do – but sometimes it can be hard to know what suits you and fits in your lifestyle for sure.
Interesting ideas here but I can’t see anything that I can do. I do sell items on vinted and e bay but that is far as it goes
I do vinted and ebay as well – I’ve had a nice run of some things selling of late (not that I’ve made much but it makes space).
