6 beautiful locations in the UK for a date*
It’s no secret that the UK features some beautiful, breath taking locations that would be perfect to visit on a date and make a nice change from the usual dimly lit restaurant or café. Here are six of the best, dotted around the UK, to choose from:

Scotland: Arthur’s Seat
You’ll need your walking boots for this date but for those who enjoy being active a visit to Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh is the perfect date destination. The location is essentially one of seven hills in the area (it’s actually a dormant volcano!) and offers stunning views you and your date can enjoy overlooking Edinburgh Castle – plus the Old and New town.
The walk is marked and you can make it as long or short as you like; it all depends on how well you and your date are getting on!
North: the streets of Whitby
While it can get busy in the summer, Whitby is a seaside town and beautiful location perfect for a first date. Filled with quaint shops, classic arcades and a promenade overlooking the sea, this town is fun, pretty and should feature plenty of things for the pair of you to talk about.
Browse the cramped gift stores featuring glittering crystals and silver jewellery, or pay £3 to stumble through the Dracula exhibit featuring scares and animatronics, which will have you clutching each other – it’s the perfect excuse to get close!
Northern Ireland: Kebble
It might not be Yorkshire but this location will remind you of the dramatic landscapes featured in one of the most well known romantic novels, Wuthering Heights, with stretches of heath covered hills, wetlands and quaint cottages dotted throughout the scenery.
The reserve can only be reached via a ferry from Ballycastle as it resides on Rathlin Island, but this only takes 25 minutes and soon enough you’ll be hopping on a tour bus to the location. Take a picnic along with you and enjoy spotting some wildlife while you and your date talk and tuck into your sandwiches.
Midlands: Moseley’s Bog
Forget the town centre when planning a date in Birmingham, venture out to Moseley’s Bog for a walk through the woodland in the dappled shade of the ancient trees and discover abandoned Victorian greenhouses amongst the flora and fauna. It’s also a great location for Tolkein fans, as the author apparently used to play in the area and used the woodland as inspiration for many of the forests in his books.

Wales: Ystradfellte Waterfalls
Another date location that requires walking boots, the Ystradfellte Four Waterfalls Walk, based in the Brecon Beacons, features caves, tranquil walks behind waterfalls, and a crystal-clear Blue Pool. It’s perfect if you fancy sharing something special with your date.
The location was also used to film scenes for the BBC show Merlin, so if either of you are a fan then head down there for a first date to remember. Pack a picnic for when you need to take a break, because the walk can prove quite challenging, but it is clearly signposted and easy to navigate so there’s no chances of you and your date getting lost.
South: Eden Project
The Eden Project is a man made jungle based in Cornwall featuring tropical plants from around the world within a huge bio dome that allows you to visit come rain or shine. The dome’s plant life is a breath taking mix that many of us would never be able to experience without a visit to the Project.
Check out the venue’s site for a list of special events that take place throughout the year. There’s ice skating taking place until February 2016 as well as year round short gardening courses which might be fun to take part in together.
So whether you met through a friend of a friend at work or via a dating website such as MySingleFriend, consider one of these locations for the perfect date.
