5 Holiday Destinations to Think about Visiting
How is your summer going?
Have you been on holiday yet, or are you still planning what to do? Perhaps you’re thinking of some ideas of places to head off to once the weather changes? Or even planning towards your holiday this year!
No matter where you are in your plans, I have a few ideas of places you might like to visit. However, it is well worth looking back on the history of both men and women who have taken to the skies and have helped make travel as simple as it is for us today.
India

On Friday I wrote about how to plan your trip to India and 2019 is a brilliant year to visit this vibrant country.
After all 2019 marks the 150 anniversary of the birth of Gandhi, making it a historical year to visit.
As the best time to travel in India is October to March, it could really make for a great place to head once the weather turns here in the UK.
Of course, once you are there, there is so much to do and see, from visiting the world-famous Taj Mahal, to spending time in their beautiful national parks, in which you may just catch a glimpse of some of the amazing wildlife, or even the big cats, which call these areas home.
If you are someone who likes to hike, then heading to the Himalayas might be for you, while beach paradises await those who like a more sedate pace.
The Swiss Alps

This is one my parents have done in October, and I adored hearing their stories and seeing their photos.
It is such a beautiful area of the world, and there is a lot to do and see.
My parents suggest taking the Eiger train (Jungfrau Express) up to view the glacier at the top. While viewing the Matterhorn is a must as well.
To make the most of their trip around the Swiss Alps, they booked a train holiday, which meant they travelled in a group and got to view the sights with people who knew about them and could suggest the best things to do.
What’s more apparently macaroni and cheese with a view is a must, but sadly which part of The Alps it was up is a mystery! So just try them all!
Japan

Japan is one country I would absolutely love to visit.
It is a country which mixes modern, with history and does it with ease. From their pod hotels, which are a must to check out and the bustling streets of Tokyo. To the beautiful blossoms of cherry blossom season and the gorgeous temples.
You can even pick (or not) between Disney and Studio Ghibli, thanks to the Disneyland in Urayasu, Chiba, while the Studio Ghibli museum can be found in Mitaka, Tokyo.
You really could spend time both in the modern-day and history, in such a beautiful country.
Aruba

Aruba has been on my bucket list for a while now.
This beautiful island is a Dutch Caribbean Island and lies just 15 miles off the shore of the United States.
It is perhaps best known for its Aloe fields and its beautiful beaches, on one of which you can frolic with flamingos!
However, that is just the start for this incredible island, thanks to its deep caves, many of which contain relics from the past. While historic gold mines offer an interesting insight into gold prospectors, who came to the island looking to find their fortune.
The Grand Canyon

This year marks the centennial of the Grand Canyon National Park, and as such, they are holding a year full of events.
Alongside all the amazing adventures you can normally have in this beautiful location, such as biking, hikin,g and even rafting.
If you would like to hear more about the area, then why not book in with the ranger talks!
It is worth noting that while the South Rim is open all year, the North Rim is only open in season, so do check what you want to see before booking a trip.
You can even stay around the Grand Canyon itself, with a range of lodges and campsites available, making this an amazing place to go and take a holiday if you love the outdoors.
So there you have a few areas, which you might like to pop on a plane and head off to in the coming months.
Do any of these locations take your fancy or is there anywhere else, in particular, you would like to go?
