The Giving Keys: Review
I was introduced to The Giving Keys range by the lovely people over at Fabulous jewellers a couple of months back now and I straight away fell in love with the idea behind these keys and that is the reason I want to share them with you today.
The Giving Keys were originally thought up by Caitlin Crosby, she was wearing her hotel room keys round her neck while on tour, when she realised we are all a little like those keys unique, flawed, scarred, and sometimes discarded by others. So she started engraving old keys with inspirational words giving them purpose again and again.
The Giving Keys also aim to help those who are homeless by employing them during their transition.
The idea behind gifting a The Giving Keys necklace is you choose a sentiment, be it Fear Less, Let Go, Love, Dream or Inspire just to name a few, that the recipient needs to hear at the time, to remind them they are being thought about and they can achieve what they need to.
Of course one day you may not need to keep that reminder so close and you may find someone who needs to remember it more and then the idea is you gift it onto them. So they can hold it close as you once did and that, to me, is what makes this such an amazing idea. This isn’t just an interesting looking necklace, it has real meaning behind it as well.
As the keys used for The Giving Keys are all re-purposed and then hand stamped, not one of them is quite the same to the next and if you don’t like the style of key I have, I am sure you will find out which is better suited to you after all how many different types of keys are out there.
I was kindly gifted the “Strength” key, which comes on a brass chain of 27 inches in length and has an RRP of £25. If this particular length or size of key isn’t right for you there are other options, including a dainty key and gold chain as well as bracelets to be chosen from.
Personally I think The Giving Key are such a great idea and I can see myself gifting them to friends and family when the chance arises.

I totally love the concept behind these .. if I’m honest i am not sure i would wear it .. but a lovely keepsake
I think that’s one of the great things about it though, you don’t have to wear it, you could hang it somewhere you can see it or just keep it in draw. x

This is such a fab idea. I already wear a key on a chain (From love lock bridge padlock), however I love the idea of having a special key.

These bring back childhood memories, we were raised in Communist Romania and were actually called “the generation of chained key’ children” as we were most of the time wearing one around our necks, to let ourselves inside the house, as all our parents worked long hours.xx
