Thankfully we are now heading towards the brighter days of spring and with it comes a great time to embrace new beginnings and bring fresh energy into your life. With just a little effort you can look to revitalise your surroundings and uplift your mood.
To help you on the right path here are some simple ways to refresh your home and mind for spring.
1. Declutter Your Space

Spring is the perfect time to think about decluttering, especially before you start the spring clean.
- Go room by room and sort items into “keep,” “donate,” and “discard” piles, you might even earn yourself a little bit to treat yourself too.
- Look to tidy up surfaces as this can help to create a more spacious and calming environment.
- Invest in storage solutions to organise any items that tend to pile up, even a small rack for letters or a storage box to put away can make a difference.
2. Bring Nature Indoors
Celebrate spring by adding some natural touches to your living space.
- Place fresh flowers or leafy plants in key areas to brighten up your rooms, look for local florists to help support small and get the best blooms!
- Switch out heavy winter décor for lighter options both in weight and look such as pastel cushions or floral throws.
- Use natural scents such as lavender or citrus to create a refreshing atmosphere via candles, diffusers or sprays.
3. Switch Up Your Daily Routine

Embrace the season with small changes to your habits.
- Looking to wake up earlier and enjoy the morning sunlight, can help to boost both your energy and mood.
- Thinking about adding light exercise, such as yoga or walking, to your day can help you feel more energised.
- Look to start journaling to reflect on your goals and practise gratitude for the season ahead.
4. Deep Clean Key Areas
Once you have decluttered the next step is a deep clean to make your home feel fresh and ready for the new season.
- Cleaning your windows can help to let in more natural light and brighten your space.
- Dust and reorganise shelves, this can offer a simple way to change things up a bit.
- Refresh your bedding, curtains, or rugs by washing or rotating them.
5. Create a Spring Reading Nook

If you want to go all out then how about transforming a corner of your home into a cosy retreat?
- Choose a sunny spot and add a comfortable chair or cushions.
- Decorate with soft throws, a small table for your books, and a vase of fresh flowers.
- Use the space to relax, read, or unwind with a cup of tea.
Spring is all about new beginnings, and a few small changes can go a long way in refreshing your home and mind. By embracing the energy of the season, you can start to feel recharged and ready to make the most of the brighter days ahead.

I have lots of decluttering to do as we are moving house.
Good luck! I am not looking forward to having to do that one myself!
I certainly need to have a big declutter, it feels so much better once it’s done too! I’ve started filling up boxes for a bootfair in the spring (although the danger of bootfairs is that I may buy more than I sell!)
I do as well we have so much just around the place and I could really do with thinking do we need this but it’s getting the energy lol.
Every year around this kind of time I have the urge to deep clean my kitchen, oven gets cleaned. Cupboards emptied and properly washed down, I love the reset it gives me.
Oh gosh oven cleaning I need to thin about doing that isn’t it just one of the worst jobs.
there is no better feeling than after a good declutter
The home feels so much better after one doesn’t it?
ooh. I’m going to have to create myself a spring reading nook!
Most definitely! Give yourself some cosy space.
I save absolutely everything!
but every year I have to do a mass clearout but boy it’s difficult. it does make me feel so much better afterwards 🥰
I really need to get a skip or something in I think and have a good clear out.
I’m looking forward to beginning a spring clean as soon as the weather gets a little warmer!
Nothing quite like a good spring clean is there!
I’m in the middle of a big declutter at the moment. It’s tough to let go of things, but the spaces I’ve sorted already now look so much better. It’s motivating me to keep going.
I need to keep going I started and I sort of stalled as my fatigue has been so bad.
Some really great advice, I need to have a declutter at some point, probably in the next couple of weeks before Spring kicks in
I can’t wait for Spring to actually be here I have to admit.
I love a declutter, and find things I can stick on sale sites and make some money!
It’s always nice to get a bit back isn’t it!
I could really do with a declutter. There is stuff everywhere!
I need to do the same, I keep trying to sell things but then I buy more to go in its place.
I Love Spring and new beginnings. My house does need a deep clean and a sort out. My granddaughter is great at cleaning and decluttering so she can help me out
Ohh it’s good that you have someone who can help you out!
Decluttering is so satisfying! I’ve been trying to do this on a regular basis so that it doesn’t end up becoming a huge task.
I wish I could be so good! I really need to get better at decluttering and then not buying more lol
I love Deep cleaning the most lived in areas in my house, plus i declutter once every 3 months
So many of you are so good at the decluttering I need you to teach me your ways!
I like a good declutter too – not so much getting up earlier.
Hands up early in my book is probably completely different to anyone elses lol.
I absolutely love these ideas. I cannot wait to declutter ready for spring – bring it on.
Good luck with your decluttering I hope it goes well!
love this time of year – I certainly need to declutter soon
