Pop in a Box: Monthly Subscription
Funko Pop vinyls are one of the collectables of the moment with prices starting at under £10. Rare and retired Pops can rocket in price into the hundreds of pounds. For those lucky enough to own them they have become collectors items. Popular Pops are often available to pre-order before they’re released.
Ash has become a huge collector of Pops! and there are lots of different retailers in the world. One of the websites we buy from is Pop in a Box, one of the largest dedicated Funko Pop retailers.
Subscription service
Pop in a Box also offers a monthly subscription service which allows you to receive between one and six surprise Pops! each month. However, this is a subscription service with a difference.
Where normally with such sign ups you leave yourself open to getting duplicate items or ones you wish not to collect (how frustrating!), they have completely solved those issues. Well, as long as you don’t go on a shopping spree in the days before your subscription arrives of course!
You see, this subscription service offers a collection pop tracker. This allows the system to know what you already have in your collection and secondly it offers a thumbs up/down or neutral selection on all other pops.
This means the system not only checks which pops you already own but makes sure you don’t receive any you have put a thumbs down for and you are most likely to receive ones you have put thumbs up for. However, it is possible to receive those that you have marked as neutral, depending on the pops they have in stock. So whether you love Harry Potter or Star Wars is more your thing, you’ll be able to make your collection what you want it to be.
Each month, there is also a number of special items added to the send out as well as the newest releases. This includes one publicised item (this month sees a limited edition of 480 metallic genie being shipped to one lucky person) and a number of other “specials” often go out to lucky buyers including exclusive pops.
For us this is the perfect mystery box as it means we do not run the risk of duplicating our current collection and we will definitely receive something we love. What’s more, the owner of the website is a well-known figure in the Pop! community so you know you are dealing with a good guy.
Pricing
The subscription for a monthly Pop in a Box delivery starts at £8.49 + £3.50 postage. You save more on each pop the more you sub and if you are signed up to the subscription service you also save a small amount on store buys. When it comes to unique subscriptions, they don’t get better than this!

Hey,
We love these little guys too.
GR
I’ve subscribed to Pop In A Box for quite a while now. The concept is good and it’s all fine when nothing goes wrong. Last month, all my Pops were ones which I “thumbed down”. It’s been a nightmare dealing with their customer service, they have a tendency of going radio silent. Last I heard was that they would send me instructions of returning, that was a week ago and I heard nothing yet. I was also given the option of 50% refund. I cannot think why I would only receive 50% when it was their mistake.
Are you on Facebook in any of the pop groups? Might be worth asking around in there for a better contact method, or try tweeting them directly rather than going via the email service as that’s run by The Hut I think?
I have found since they started using The Hut as warehouse space and running via them, things have gone downhill, which was a change that happened the latter part of last year, which is a shame.
Sounds great – my son would like this!
Oh my days my son would LOVE this! At four he’s probably way to young officially for it, but I can’t imagine that would hold him back 😉
It’s brilliant that you don’t get duplicates. That’s one thing that would put me off something like this. Luckily for me my girls haven’t mentioned these…yet!
Never mind the kids… sign ME up!!
I really like that you can keep track of one’s already sent, such a good idea
Ooh LOVE those, would go perfectly with the rest of my toy collection!
Ive seen these ‘things’ pop up (no pun intended) in a few places now and have always wondered what they are/were x

I have seen these in Game and hubby is after Groot!
Now I’d never heard of these, but my son saw me looking at this page and seemed to know all about them. So I’ve learnt something new.
I had no idea there was a subscription box for these. These little guys are awesome! I love the variety that they offer.
