KEF Headphones M100: Review
We seem to get through a huge amount of headphones in this house. I’m not 100% sure how they get broken but Ash seems to have this knack of them one minute being fine and the next, one side seems to have stopped working. So I am always looking for something to hopefully last longer than the last pair.
A few weeks ago KEF got in touch about some of the fantastic products they have on sale at the moment and when I saw one of the items was a pair of headphones I wanted to know more. However, as I read on I became more and more interested, as I have to admit I hadn’t heard of KEF before, but they are actually a British brand that has been around since 1961 and was founded by Raymond Cooke OBE and as such have a long and celebrated history in the sound industry.
KEF M100
Ash is a person who loves in-ear headphones so when it came to which pair of headphones to try, it was a no brainer, the M100 in ear headphones range was a must. These particular headphones are revered for being comfortable and lightweight in the ears and they offer a true high-resolution sound, so you can enjoy sound on the move.
The KEF M100 series of in-ear headphones comes in a number of different colours, including; racing blue, sunset orange, titanium grey and the pair we received, champagne gold. The headphones come really nicely packaged and include a little carry case, with a few spare ear tips in different sizes.
These headphones are made to be completely compatible with Apple devices, as well as many other brands.
Ash is perhaps the one who knows more about headphones than me, so I turned to him and asked him what he thought about these headphones. He said he found them to be really comfortable thanks to the ear design, while the sound from them was crisp and clear as the earphones minimise distortion and instruments were clearly differentiated.
When it comes to make, he felt they were well made and could easily live up to everyday wear and tear that we all seem to put headphones through when we use them. This from him is pretty high praise, indeed.
The M100 from KEF has an RRP of £119.95, to me this seems like a good price for headphones from the bracket of design and quality. So if you are after something smart looking, with good quality sound output, that is comfortable to wear. I would definitely suggest checking out more about these if you are in the market for a high-quality pair of headphones.
What do you think of the KEF M100, could you see yourself buying them?

I haven’t heard of these KEF headphones but mine always seem to stop working aswell, I may have to give these a try! 🙂
I was introduced to KEF a few years ago when an audiophile friend had a used set of their Egg surround speakers for sale. I scooped them up and have fallen in love with the very neutral sound signature they offer. Too many companies try to overload the bass. KEF has good solid bass but not overpowering or distorted. Their products are for people who truly appreciate music. If you like the headphones treat yourself to their home speakers. I recently got the E Series for a dedicated theater room in my home. I may never go to a theater again!
Yes I can see me getting these….practical quality
My Son also has the knack of braking these. Hopefully if I won these would be indestructable!!!
So many colours and from your review they sound worth the money.
Wow, I don’t think I would ever pay that much for headphones! Not unless they were a statement pair or just amazingly good.
These look great but I feel like I don’t use headphones enough to invest in a nice pair
Haha I am constantly breaking headphones too. These look so attractive!
My 4 year old daughter asked for her first pair of head phones the other day! x
i like the look of these! but dayum the price of these
Yeah that’s the only downside 🙁 seems to be about normal for ones of this quality – but I totally admit we go through cheap pairs so quickly so I think they earn the pennies in the long run as they last longer.
I badly need a new headphone now. I’ve been using mine now for some time and this one looks worth to try
These look like some fab headphones! We too go through headphones constantly x
I use headphones every single day and comfort is a must when it comes to them as well as sound quality, these are on the more expensive side for me but I do think they would be worth the investment if I had the cash to splash x
I need to get some for hubby thanks for posting.
Earphones are practically a taboo subject in our house. My cat has eaten at least three pairs of my husband’s earphones (though in her defence he shouldn’t keep them on the floor!) I should look into getting him a decent pair as a sorry.
Noo haha! My rabbit used to go through them well and the phone charger cables, nom nom! x
We are constantly purchasing new headphones because they break (or sometimes just because we have a teenager who steals ours). These look like great headphones!
Well, that sounds so great! My sister is struggling to find a good earphones. Thanks! I need to tell this to her.
I get through headphones too. I blame Bowie.
Seems like a decent pair of head phones.
KEF has longevity being around since 1961 – had no idea of that.
These look amazing, but I couldn’t see myself spending that much as I always seem to lose them! 🙁
I really need some decent headphones that are not only comfy, but don’t break after about a week.
I listen to music and podcasts a lot so I always have a stash of quality headphones. Thanks for sharing this x
I have never heard of this brand before. It is hard to find a good pair of headphones that fit nice and also last.
I can actually deal with poor phone charger but i can’t stand to poor earphone for so long. I love music that’s why i always want a better earphones especially when we are on a road trip.
Comfort is one of my top priorities when picking out headphones. I like listening to podcasts while I work!
These look great. My oldest always steals everyones headphones in the house. These would be great for him, maybe last a bit longer than the cheap ones we are always going through.
I wear headphones every single day at the gym, usually for more than an hour at a time, so a high quality pair is a must. I really love that gold color too!
I love a good pair of headphones, I use two kinds earbud ones and the big DR Dre style headphones. I have never heard of kef but they do sound great!
The amount of headphones we get through in our house is crazy, 2 teens and music mad husband means they’re usually fighting over the last pair. This would be a nice treat for them!
I’m impressed by the variety of colors. It would be easy to select a set for everyone on my gift list and provide them with the opportunity to get top sound from quality hi-fi earphones.
I go through headphones and ear bud pretty quick! I use them daily at the gym so I will be needing to check this brand out too!
These look great. I do think to have good headphones you need to spend quite a bit.
These look great! My husband is looking for some new headphones too – these would be ideal! H x
I like the shape of the old apple headphones but they don’t seem to make them anymore
These look like great buds. Cheaping out on earphones or buds is always a mistake. They either sound terrible, don’t last, or both.
Cheap headphones are always a mistake, terrible sound and they are never designed for comfort either so it does pay to invest!
They sound great and I love how they come in so many colours too 🙂
