Kasbah Clothing
Created by British designer Heather Benhrima (seen in the image above), Kasbah Clothing was brought to life after Heather had spent many years creating for other brands. However, she felt the time was right to go it alone and bring her unique style and designs to plus-size women.
Heather lives in Marrakech with her husband, where she not only designs the items but oversees the factory in which they are made, before they are shipped over to their warehouse in Lincolnshire. Where their UK team not only dispatch the items but are also ready to answer any questions about style, fit and fabrics.
Within the Kasbah Clothing range, you are likely to see a large nod towards a Moroccan influence, with rich colours and bold prints at the heart.
Crushed Velvet Bubble Top
Coming in a choice of midnight blue or Bordeaux (a beautiful deep red colour), this crushed velvet bubble top is a must-have for nights out and sophisticated days.
It has been created to drape across the body offering a stylish silhouette. Made from 95% Polyester and 5% Elastane, it is best washed on a 30-degree delicate cycle.
The crushed velvet fabric offers this beautiful textured look, which shines slightly in the light. Offering depth and warmth to the finished piece.
My Thoughts
A wonderfully soft, light and comfortable top, this piece works beautifully paired with leather look trousers. At 5ft 6 I found it hangs below my bottom, meaning I felt well covered and brave enough to wear legging-type trousers under for a comfortable fit.
Due to the long sleeves and crushed velvet material, the top is warm and comfortable, making it perfect for colder nights out.
To the front, there are two pockets, which are useful for anything from a tissue to your phone as you nip to the loo.
I feel like Kasbah Clothing has taken into account the plus size silhouette and has created clothes to complement it, rather than just upsizing.
Personally, I can definitely see myself heading to them to buy more clothes, in fact, they have a lovely Oversized Leopard Print which I might have to add to my wishlist.
The Tomasa Crushed Velvet Bubble Top in Midnight Blue comes in at £75, however, right now is on sale for £50.
