Getting Healthier For The New Year
Now that we are in the middle of winter, it is all too easy to feel like we should be hibernating and stocking up on carbs to combat the cold. However, it is important for us to try and maintain a healthy lifestyle even in the colder seasons of the year.
Today we want to talk about some of the simple and achievable ways you can improve your health and fitness routine this winter to ensure you stay in tip-top shape into the new year.
Here are some of our top healthy tips for you to take on this season to help keep yourself and your family healthy.

Eat more colour
The first thing you should try to do this winter is make every plate of food like a rainbow. The different colours of foods such as fruit and vegetables denote the different vitamins and minerals held within. This means by packing your plate up with lots of different colours you can get all the essential nutrients you need for the day ahead. Every mealtime try to get at least 3-4 different colours on your plate and this will help your body to fuel itself in the best possible way.
Workout early in the morning
One of the biggest hurdles to cross when trying to be healthy is fitness. Getting into a good workout routine can be incredibly hard, and that’s why we have some great advice for you today – workout first thing in the morning. By dragging yourself out of bed and working out before your brain can process what you are doing, you won’t overthink it and by the time you are done, you’ll feel refreshed and awake and you won’t have to do any more workouts for the day!
Reduce alcohol intake
Alcohol is such a wonderful thing; it comes in so many forms and it’s a drink that can be very addictive. The best thing you can do for yourself this winter is to reduce your alcohol intake. This will not only reduce your daily calories allowing you to lose weight, but it will also stop you from needing a catheter from Coloplast due to an overactive bladder and kidney issues. Your health is so important, and alcohol can take a toll on it.
Get outside
Walking outside in the fresh air is one of the best things you can do for your health this year. By getting out for a refreshing stroll at lunchtime or after your working day is over, you’ll burn calories as well as help towards a healthier heart. Keep yourself super healthy by taking regular walks and it will impact your health in a wonderful way.
Eat little and often
Eating small meals often is a good way to keep your metabolism running smoothly. If you struggle with digestion, smaller meals will be easier to handle and these will often help you to manage your food more easily. Leaving less time between the meals you have will also reduce your cravings and ensure you stay on track with your health.
