Elsie and Fleur – Review

Pieces on Elsie and Fleur start at under £5 with each piece being showcased by a gorgeous picture, information on the item as well as a link to the crafter’s personal page where you can find out more about them.
I was sent two products made by Jo Stephens – a lady who studied art, then went on to spend 20 years as a primary school teacher, she now devotes her days to crafting things from wood and can of course be found on Elsie and Fleur. These two products are just perfect for Christmas the first as a gift and the second as a decoration and both cost just £6.
Never a truer word has been said – at least in my mind, I couldn’t imagine not having the waggling, licking, stink bomb that is Sally around the place, she can be everything from a hot water bottle, the keeper of secrets to just great company on a lonely day and this little sign is just right for showing your devotion. At 5.5cm high (at the highest point) by 9cm wide this really is a piece that could fit in the smallest of places yet making a big impact. It has been hand-painted and decorated and is finished with garden twine, ready to make even the poshest pooch feel special.
Pyrography Freestanding Reindeer

I fell in love with this little reindeer the moment I spotted it – made by burning the wood with a metal pin or tool (pyrography) and taking inspiration from the Nordic, I can only imagine it looking beautiful placed on the Christmas dinner table entwined with mistletoe or holly. Mine at the moment is sat in pride of place on my mantelpiece looking over me as I write all about it. I think one of my favourite things about this item is that no two will ever looks the same – of course the fact its handmade means that is true, but each piece of wood will have its own differences and faults with each one of those adding to its beauty.
There is so much I want to get myself from Elsie and Fleur and I have to admit I can see it becoming one of my favourite shops of 2014. I am really happy to have been introduced to it and I hope you enjoy it just as much as I do.
What do you think of Elsie and Fleur and the pieces above, is the type of shop you love as well?

They do nice things – going to check them out 10 years on!
Lol after another cushion being brutally murdered by the dog I dunno about that sign.
Love the sign.. this would fit perfect into my house.. soo cute
I’ve always loved the look of art made by burning wood. I really like the exquisitely thin lines of the reindeer.. I can’t imagine it’s an easy process to make such precise thin lines. Plus, wow, what patience. You picked out some great items!
I had never heard of Elsie Fleur until now. I absolutely love their “A house is not a home without a dog” sign!

I love hand crafted art. I really like the dog bone sign. Our home would not be a home with out our Scooby and King Arthur so true.
I love handmade gifts. Their site has some pretty awesome items. Love it, thanks for sharing!
The sign would be a perfect gift for my friend who is a huge dog lover. The pyrography piece is stunning! I have a pyrography keyring with my name on it that I have had since I was very young. I love the look of the burnt wood and would love to have some pieces like that around my home when we move 🙂 x
My cousin made a lot of her own wedding decorations and she did a lot of pyrography onto driftwood and it was beautiful so much nicer than some of the ‘bought’ items I’ve seen x
I love handmade items so much more personal xx
I love handmade things like this. They add so much to making a home look loved and well lived in!
Had to laugh about the ‘House is not a home without a dog’ sign because I’m constantly complaining about our dogs wet, muddy paws inside the house- and they should be kept outside. My husband is, somehow, able to ignore all the pawprints and hair etc and loves their company indoors. I think I ought to get him that sign!
Haha I have to admit the paw prints and the fur I could do without 😉 x
I love this! I have two pups and they are definitely a part of the family. =)
i love these pieces, really clever, would definitely like to see more
