As the old Dogs Trust saying goes a dog is for life, not just for Christmas that however doesn’t mean Christmas can’t be for the dog and in our house Sal loves it when Christmas morning comes and she gets to rip open her presents, we actually learnt very quickly not to put hers under the tree as she could easily pick out which were hers and would take off running around the house, tearing the paper off as she went.
Today I thought I would show you a couple of doggy gift ideas I have come across this year, as some of you might know Sally can’t actually eat any treats so we have to come up with new ideas on what will get her tail wagging each year.
The Dog Bauble
This little beauty came from Goodheart Gifts who sadly seem to be closed at the moment (their elves must be in overdrive trying to get things ready for santa) but can be brought at a number of online stores including Treasure Box as well where it costs at the moment £11.99. This beautiful bauble is made from bone china and can include up to 4 lines of 20 character personalised text. The bauble itself seems to be slightly weighted so the dog picture hands perfectly forward. I can’t wait to get this onto our tree and *fingers crossed* it won’t get knocked off by any noses or tails.
Santa Tug Toy
I’ve featured the lovely Vets Food World before they are great for buying pet supplies at pocket friendly prices and the convince of having it delivered straight to your door and I have to say with Sal on a prescription diet I can say hand on heart that it really does save you money every time you buy. Of course they haven’t forgotten Christmas for the animals and have a huge selection of toys and food to treat your pet to, Sally was very kindly treated to this lovely Good Boy Santa Tug Toy (also available in a reindeer) of which she has grown very attached – and just so happens to still be in one piece. As I have found with all Good Boy toys it has been well made and costs a more pocket friendly price than some dog toys seem to come in at these days, this one in particular costs £3.80 and for the enjoyment it has given Sal already I can definitely say it would be well worth the pennies,

I love that ornament!! We dont put the dog’s presents under the tree either.. they’d eat right though them! They do get a stocking though, filled with YUMMMMS!
Love the ornament Sarah! It’s so adorable. I happen to be a scaredy cat when it comes to dogs. I think they can smell my fear of them haha. I’m not sure why, but I think I’m more of a cat person, now obviously, that would make sense why dogs don’t seem to like me LOL. Baby, my cat, ignores all her toys until after I go to sleep–then she plays with them!! And wakes me up in the process—–she also knows when something is for her (of course she thinks everything is for her)-especially treats!!
My dogs don’t know the significance of the day, but we do buy them new toys so they won’t chew up all the presents the girls have opened. They are more interested in their own goodies than hunting down little barbie shoes to chew up lol.
Aww, too cute. We just went Christmas shopping for our new dog yesterday actually. I think I want to get an ornament commemorating his first Christmas with us, too.

That Good Boy Santa Tug Toy is too cute. My fur babies would love it. My little ones need something durable, they are quite rough on their toys.

We have little stockings that get stuffed with a nice big chew bone to keep the doggies busy while we open our presents on Christmas morn.

That ornament is adorable. All of our animals have their own ornament, and they get stockings for Christmas.
Those are super cute, however I need doggie coal this year. My dog has been awful lately. It is times like this he is lucky he is cute.
I like to treat our dog to some turkey or chicken during the holidays. It is the only time of the year that we allow him to eat some table food.

My cat couldn’t care less about the holidays! Well that may not be true; she does run and hide from the extra guests and appreciates the extra boxes.

Love that bauble and Sally looks so happy with her Santa toy! Hendrix is on a strict diet as well, so I can appreciate how hard it is.
