E-Pace vs. Velar: The Twins
Comparing a Range Rover to a Jaguar is something that can only happen in the unlikeliest situation.
Yet, here we are. The Jaguar E-Pace and the new Range Rover Velar are actually twins.
The chassis on both cars was developed by Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) engineers.
The E-Pace and the Velar are basically the same cars, aren’t they? Well, not so much.
The two actually have some unique traits and they offer very different things.
If you are wondering whether to lease a Jaguar or get the Range Rover, you will find that choosing between the two isn’t going to be as straightforward as you think.

Driving Experiences
When you look at the cars side-by-side, you will notice that they have the same wheelbase and a generally similar shape.
The E-Pace is sleeker and more modern, but the Velar isn’t exactly a bad-looking car either.
In fact, these two are safely the best-looking SUVs on the market at the moment.
However, take them both for a drive and you will notice an immediate difference.
The E-Pace feels sharper and sportier, perfect for city use with a bit of off-roading in between. The Velar, on the other hand, focusses more on comfort and off-road driving.
There is a reason behind these unique driving experiences.
The same chassis is used as the foundation for both cars, but it is configured differently.
JLR actually designed the chassis to have more wheel travel than what Jags normally use, specifically so the Velar can take it to the next level when off-roading.
The E-Pace doesn’t have the off-road ability of the Velar due to the latter taking advantage of that extra wheel travel better.
However, it is impossible for the Velar to match E-Pace’s sharpness and cornering abilities.

Inside the Cabin
The same theme can be seen inside the cabins of these cars too.
The Velar’s cabin is definitely designed to deliver that soothing, calming feel even when you are miles off the road. You can go through some rough terrain and still be in utter luxury inside the Range Rover.
The E-Pace, on the other hand, maintains its sportiness.
You have mood lighting that you can customise, a big steering wheel that is comfortable to use – and gives plenty of feedback – and seats that keep you comfortable in your place when cornering hard.
It’s not like the E-Pace is skimping in the luxury department either. You get a big centre console, wood accents in some areas, and high-quality leather to keep you comfortable.

An SUV for Everyone
There is no doubt that the Velar is more suited for those who go off the road a lot. It carries Range Rover’s signature terrain response system, which places it as the car of choice for sturdiness and off-road capabilities.
The Jag, on the other hand, is an instant favourite. It is sporty, capable, and comfortable at the same time.
It even comes with better Jaguar leasing deals, especially with companies like Vantage Leasing offering it for as little as £209.22 per month as a business lease.
Choosing between these two cars is a matter of finding one that suits your personal preferences.

I really like the design and the functionality of the Range Rover! I actually am trying to decide for a car to buy and this made me quite go for the side towards range rovers! Yay!
If would have a choice, that would be a Range Robert, no doubt. Great Post. Thanks for sharing!
I would absolutely love a Range Rover , it’s my dream car! My husband would love a Jaguar!
I probably would pick a Range Rover over a Jaguar, I personally think it may be more practical.. that is if both choices is not an option. Then again who doesn’t want to own a Jaguar:)
I did the whole 4×4 and suv thing when I had oodles of teenagers to manoeuvre safely around the UK. Now I live close enough to civilisation to not be dependent on a car at all and I love it!
I love Range Rovers and would love to have one! Loved seeing all your amazing pictures!
I have never been fond of either brand. I am more a classic car girl.
My dream car is a Tesla, followed by a Range Rover – haha! Their design is always so sleek.
Those 2 cars are really amazing. I would have difficulty choosing in this situation, but the SUV sounds like a good family car.
I’ve always wanted a Range Rover!!
I love the independence driving provides me. I would very much like to drive an SUV someday, hopefully on a long winding road, so I can test drive at will! 🙂
I never had an idea they are twins. A lot of awesome specs actually. Both are legendary.
I love both cars. Both are incredibly hot. I didn’t know that Jaguar E-Pace and the new Range Rover Velar are twins. You wrote a nice detail about them.
I am so not a vehicle person, I know enough to get around, but these look pretty hot. I love the color options.
I have a fear of driving so I have no preference when it comes to cars lol. This looks like something my husband would love though.
Wow! They both look amazing. I love the new design of Range Rover! But I love the idea of having a Jaguar! … A difficult choice!
I love SUVS cars they are so comfy and pefect for long journeys.
I didn’t know these vehicles were that similar. I don’t look at new cars much. I’m a fan of the muscle cars.
They are both beautiful cars but I’ve always wanted a Range Roger, since I can remember.
Either way, you could ride with style and luxury! Sporty and likely a lot of fun to drive. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us!
This is a great compare and contrast of the E-Pace vs the Velar! I didn’t know they used the same chassis for both, but given that information I’m surprised by how different they truly are.
I’ve never considered that there are fewer manufacturers than automobile companies out there. I wonder what other cars are really the same on the inside
Not that I am ever likely to drive either, I think the Range Rover is the best even though they are twins! LOL!
I am not much into cars, my sister in law does have a Range Rover and it is really nice. I personally like a small car for myself.
Beautiful cars – both of them. Unfortunately, my family wouldn’t fit in either of these – but I’d definitely take one as a second vehicle to jet back and forth for groceries and date nights with my husband 😉
These are some nice SUVS. My husband would love this for his next car and they have great features.
I’d take any of the two to be honest! They look like amazing cars and must be amazing to drive!
Wow – the Range Rover is super! Would love one in the future. Such a great interior and exterior.
Funny thing is I can’t even drive but I am very good at noticing what kind of car I want even if I know nothing about it. I need to learn more before I start driving.
I do not understand a lot of machines, but surely this blog post will interest my dad!
They both sound like great cars to me. I think it’s interesting that they are both so similar in the base. I had no idea cars could be like that.
Both of these cars look absolutely exquisite. Either one would be like a dream car for me!
A Range Rover is one of my dream cars. I wouldn’t even be picky if I came home to any of them in my drive way.
I never would have thought to compare these two vehicles, and I’m surprised that they are so similar. Great job with the review!
My hubby would take either of these cars! He loves car in general but luxury cars are something he would LOVE to drive!
I love Range Rovers and would love to have one in the future.
That Range Rover is gorgeous. I love my current Lexus SUV but it’s starting to get some age on it and I need to think about what my next SUV will be.
These look like some great vehicles. I don’t know much about them, I just like when they have safety features! And I tend to go for the least expensive 😉
I’ve always wanted a Range Rover and maybe someday. Great review to show my husband…the car guy!
I don’t know that much about cars. Just not my cup of tea. We have cars and truck.
