Do Not Perceive Me: Discovering Hush Hollow’s Strange and Wonderful T-Shirts
AD – PR Sample: I received a Hush Hollow t-shirt for consideration on my blog.
I love finding weird little corners of the internet. Give me folklore, animals, spooky things and a bit of general weirdness, and I’m probably going to have a good nose around.
So Hush Hollow was always going to be dangerous.
Their t-shirts cover everything from folklore and cryptids to memes, cats and other animals. Some are definitely on the weirder side, while others are much more normal.
When it came to choosing one for myself, the Do Not Perceive Me Cat T-Shirt was suggested to me as it’s one of their bestsellers and I loved it.
My other choice was the Local Cryptid Support Group T-Shirt.
In the end, I went slightly more mainstream and chose the cat.
Who Are Hush Hollow?

What I really like about Hush Hollow is the mixture of designs.
There are folklore and cryptids, some wonderfully spooky t-shirts, memes and plenty of animals too. So even if the weirder side isn’t quite your thing, there are some much more normal designs to look through.
A lot of them have an old field-guide sort of look, which works particularly well with some of the stranger creatures lurking around the website.
If this all sounds like your sort of thing, you can have a nose through the field guide-style t-shirts about strange animals and folklore at Hush Hollow.
Just don’t blame me if you end up with far too many tabs open.
Do Not Perceive Me Cat T-Shirt
The Do Not Perceive Me Cat T-Shirt features a black cat sitting in a bathroom sink with “Do Not Perceive Me” written above.
Honestly, there are days when I understand that cat completely. I want to wear the t-shirt which will get people looking, but I never want to be perceived.
I went for the t-shirt in black, which I felt the design stood out beautifully against.
However, what surprised me most when it arrived was the quality.
What Is the T-Shirt Like?

My first reaction when I got it out was pretty much:
Oh, this feels nice.
Followed quite quickly by:
Ohh, this isn’t a cheap print.
I’ve owned a lot of graphic t-shirts over the years, and you can normally tell when you’ve got one of those prints that feels like a layer of plastic has just been stuck across the front. Eventually it cracks and, well, it just doesn’t feel particularly nice either.
This is completely different.
The print feels really good quality. It doesn’t have that thick, plasticky feeling some printed t-shirts have, you know the ones I mean, where it feels like if you accidentally put a crease in the print it will crack apart. No, this one stands up to creasing and washing well.
The t-shirt itself is 100% cotton, which is a huge plus for me, and Hush Hollow uses Comfort Colors T-shirts.
They are a heavier-weight, garment-dyed cotton and apparently have a bit of a following of their own. Having tried one, I can understand why.
I’m quite fussy when it comes to t-shirts. I like them oversized, I need plenty of room around the neck, and I really don’t like anything that clings.
This one was true to size and fit me really nicely. It had plenty of room around the neck and didn’t feel tight or cling to me, which is exactly what I want from a t-shirt.
I did wonder if the thicker material might make it quite warm to wear, but surprisingly it didn’t. It actually felt much cooler than I expected, despite being a heavier t-shirt.
It’s also supposed to get softer the more it’s washed, so I’m interested to see how it feels after I’ve worn and washed it a few more times.
It arrived much quicker than I expected too, especially considering Hush Hollow t-shirts are printed to order.
So far, I genuinely only have good things to say about it.
Will I Actually Wear It?
I already have!
And yes, I will definitely be wearing it again.
The slightly heavier material feels good quality, it fits the way I like a t-shirt to fit and I didn’t find it anywhere near as warm as I thought I might.
Then, of course, there’s the cat.
Sometimes you just don’t want to be perceived.
My only problem is that I’ve carried on looking at the website.
I’ve already found the Witchy Golden Retriever T-Shirt I want, because of course I have.
There’s also the Ghost in the Wildflowers T-Shirt, which is a little ghost sitting amongst flowers and is ridiculously cute.
This is why I shouldn’t be allowed to browse things.

Win a Hush Hollow T-Shirt
Hush Hollow is giving one Life in a Break Down reader the chance to win a t-shirt of their choice.
The winner can choose any design on the website in Black, Pepper or Moss, in sizes S to 3XL.
Personally, I’d recommend setting aside some time to choose.
You could start with the Hush Hollow bestsellers, but considering I’ve gone from one t-shirt to wanting at least three, I’m probably not the person to ask for sensible browsing advice.
The competition is open to UK residents only, with Hush Hollow covering the t-shirt and postage.
To enter, just follow the instructions on the Gleam widget below.
Win a Hush Hollow T-Shirt of Your ChoiceThis competition has a mandatory entry; once this is completed, all other entries are optional. The more entry methods you enter via, the more chances you will have in the final draw. I’m sorry I’ve had to bring back mandatory comments; I’m getting too many entries from people not in the UK who are just entering via the visit options only and never visiting my blog, thanks to someone pushing out all competitions via scraping the embed and people not reading terms, and it’s making picking a winner very time-consuming. I will monitor the situation, and if it stops, I will go back to having no mandatory entries.
Giveaway closes 02/10. The winner will be chosen at random and contacted by email. Good luck!
