Are you looking for the perfect advent calendar to help you count down the days to Christmas? Then I have some ideas which cross a number of categories, from delicious chocolates to beauty products, which offer great value for money.
Wickedly Welsh Chocolate Advent

Are you looking for a chocolate advent calendar that is going to take you through a plethora of taste sensations? Do you want to find something different behind each door?
Then how about the Wickedly Welsh Chocolate Advent?
Filled with festive flavours such as gingerbread crunch, Christmas pudding, and spiced milk praline, this advent contains 13 different chocolates, making for a surprise behind every door.
Worried about not knowing what you might be eating? Well, never fear as each door tells you the flavour behind it as well.
Wickedly Welsh Chocolate has nine wins at the Guild of Fine Foods Great Taste Awards, a proven Welsh heritage and offers artisanal quality chocolates. What more could you ask for?
These delicious chocolates really are something special and offer a wonderful treat to enjoy every day in the countdown to Christmas. For those chocolate connoisseurs out there, this is a must-try.
The Wickedly Welsh Chocolate Advent Calendar is £19.99 and available to buy now.
The Body Shop Ultimate Advent of Wonders

Every year The Body Shop comes out with a range of advent calendars to fit different budgets. Each of these advents are worth considerably more than you pay out.
For instance, the Advent of Wonders costs £59, yet is filled with contents worth £119, while the Ultimate Advent of Wonders comes in at £145 and is worth £205.
Inside each of the advents, you will find a range of loved The Body Shop products. Sizes range of sample to full-size products, with the higher-price box containing more full-size products than the lower-priced options.
Personally, I like the fact that The Body Shop places their normal, loved products within the box. It means you know the value you are getting and you know the quality on offer.

To give you just an idea of some of the goodies hidden inside the Ultimate Box of Wonders (after all I don’t want to spoil it for those who want a surprise), you will find inside:
- Moringa Shine & Protection Shampoo 250ml
- Mango Bath Blend 250ml
- Avocado Body Lotion 200ml
- Strawberry Lip Balm 10ml
- Pink Clay Facial Konjac Sponge
You can find a full list of what is included in each of the boxes on The Body Shop website, where you can also buy them! Plus don’t forget to use the code: AFFLIFE to get 20% off your order!
Cadbury Dairy Milk

Is there anything more nostalgic than a Cadbury Dairy Milk Advent? The staple of childhood.
Of course, these are still seen around the country as Christmas comes near.
Behind each door is a shaped piece of Dairy Milk, most likely to be scoffed as a child rushes out the door to school.
Available from most supermarkets and many shops the Cadbury Dairy Milk Advent can also be bought from Cadbury Direct where it comes in at £2.74
Swizzels Advent Calendar

Are you all about the sweets? Then this offering from Swizzels could be perfect.
It features favourites such as: Love Hearts, Drumsticks, Refreshers, Palma Violets and more!
With a fun sweet shop design you are never going to quite know what is going to be found behind each door. Will it be your favourite today?
The Swizzles Sweet Shop Advent is available from Ocado, Asda and Sainsbury among other stores comes in at £6.
Cadbury Dairy Milk Chunk Advent

If you want something a bit more from your Cadbury Daily Milk advent then how about this “chunk” option. Behind each door, you will find a chunk of daily milk, with a mix of plain milk chocolate, caramel and wholenut to find.
This calendar is perfect for those who want something familiar but with a bit of a twist.
Once again these are available at a range of shops including the Cadbury Direct website where it costs £7.19.
So there are just a few ideas from the probably hundreds on sale this year, I hope it helps you pick your favourite to help you count down.

I absolutely love an advent calendar. I’m 48 and there’s never been a year I haven’t had one!
I feel like an advent calender is an absolute must isn’t it?
These are some great suggestions and would be loved by everyone!
Thank you so much – I hope they have given people some ideas for Christmas!
Always has to be the classic Cadburys for me 🙂 the £2.00 one that is!
I love to see so much choice nowadays. When I was young, my calendar just had a little picture behind the door!
It’s amazing how far advents have come isn’t it? Really a trend that has caught on.
Its amazing how many different advent calendars there are now. From chocolate, right up to ones holding jewellery worth thousands !
I love advent calendars, we all have one but usually traditional choccy ones
For the past coup[le of years I have bought my BFF an advent calendar. The Cadbury’s chunk one looks good for this year.
Ohh I really hope he likes it if you decide to get it for him!
Ohh! What lovely ideas. I would love the BodyShop one. My fella has the Dairy Milk Chunk one this year, he is looking forward to opening it. x
The Body Shop one is just fantastic, honestly highly recommened with any of the three they have as they are just great value.
Some great ideas – the dairy milk chunk looks great
It’s a really nice idea to offer something just a bit more from the normal Dairy Milk isn’t it?
Some nice ideas, there. Thank you. I have bought the children advent cards and will find out what they would like for advent calendars.
Ohh I hope they have fun with whatever type of calender they decide to go for!
I have bought my grandson a lego one that builds up a Christmas scene. For my twin grand daughters who will share ( sort of !!!) One that builds up a nativity scene and another with 24 little Peppard pig books. None for me
Oh that is such a fun idea with the lego one and I’m guessing it can be used as well as lego bricks normally can be!
One of my friends didn’t want to box from her advent calendar from the Body Shop last year so we converted it into a homework and letter draw. So not only are you getting some high quality full body sized product, you’re also getting a really pretty winter themed organisation box.
Still need to decide on a chocolate advent for the kids this year
Oh that is such a good idea, I was thinking it is such a nice box there must be something I can do with it after as it really is good quality!
I used to always get a Body Shop calender but I don’t have the budget for myself anymore as my girls are teens now and I have 1 wanting a build a bear calander and 1 wanting a beauty Calendar so Mama will have to have a cheapy one this year haha
Oh no – I hope you manage to find yourself something lovely to have! I have to admit I didn’t know Build-A-Bear did a calendar I’m going to have to nose at that.
Lovely ideas here. I love the look of the Body Shop calendar and I still buy the family the familiar Cadburys Milk Chocolate Advent
I think Cadburys will always have that nostalgic side to it won’t it?
