What would you do if your child disappeared without a trace and everyone around you believed it was time to move on?
That’s the question at the heart of Ask Him, the debut novel from Julie Savanth and the first instalment in The Sandbox Trilogy. Blending speculative fiction with mystery and psychological suspense, it promises a gripping story about grief, determination and the lengths a parent will go to in search of the truth.
If you enjoy books that keep you questioning what’s real until the very end, this looks like one to add to your reading list.
What is Ask Him About?

Rachel’s life changes forever when her thirteen-year-old son, Matt, disappears on his way home from school.
Despite extensive searches and a lack of answers, Rachel refuses to accept that her son has simply vanished. While those around her begin to lose hope, she continues searching for clues, convinced there’s more to the story than anyone realises.
As she uncovers connections between Matt’s disappearance and other missing children, an unsettling pattern begins to emerge. Then Rachel discovers a coded message Matt left behind, revealing that he may have stumbled across something he was never supposed to see.
What follows is a mystery that moves beyond a simple missing persons case into something altogether more unsettling.
About Julie Savanth
Julie Savanth was born in Rochdale and has enjoyed a varied career as a Chartered Accountant, certified Forensic Accountant and business builder.
Although books have always been an important escape, it wasn’t until recovering from a serious riding accident that she began developing the ideas that would eventually become The Sandbox Trilogy. Facing the possibility she might never walk again gave her the time and determination to bring the story to life.
When she’s not writing, Julie enjoys walking her dog, practising yoga and travelling, particularly to India, where she and her husband own a small coffee plantation.
