  1. Life is very different for me from what I expected. I didn’t expect to have a daughter with autism, significant learning difficulties, sensory processing disorder and communication issues. I actually grieve for the child I wanted her to be. Now that’s bloody hard. I will be a lifetime carer for her, she will probably never leave home. I will always be her advocate, her voice a d fight for her. Life is hard, on all of us especially my other daughter who does miss out a lot.
But I do see the world in a different way now. The struggles disabled people have. Parents who are battling constantly for their child to have an education. Mums like me who are burnt out after nearly 7 weeks of summer holidays. So to answer your question, life is very different to en to what I thought it would be.
Apologies for the long waffle! xx

  2. Thank you for sharing this with us. Life doesn’t always turn out as we plan and I know that my husband and me often look back and think how we might have done things differently but we don’t try not to dwell on that

    1. It’s hard in some ways isn’t it – but then you also have to think about the things that wouldn’t have happened if things had gone as planned, and what you would have missed out on because of that too.
