Simple Summer Decor Ideas 2023
AD
Are you looking for some simple ways to update your home decor ready for summer? Then this could be the post for you.
No matter if you want to completely redecorate or just add a few new items to your home, there is always something you can do to bring the season’s feelings into your home.
So just what are these summer decor ideas?
Change Your Curtains

I did this myself last year at two windows and am looking to do the same in the bedroom this year. It is a small change that I found really made such a difference to the room.
Personally, I changed to a lighter option in the lounge, which let through more light. These lighter curtains help open up and lighten the room, even when they are drawn.
Curtains are always a simple item to change to make a big difference, as they can be a real focal point of the room. What’s more, if you shop around, they don’t have to break the bank.
Change Your Wall Art
Another simple idea that can make a big impact on the room is changing the art or photos you have hanging up. This can really change the whole atmosphere of the room, as well as bring back memories if you change photos of yourself.
However, if you are looking for something really different, then MuffleArt could be the way to go.
MuffleArt not only offers a unique range of wall art but also includes an acoustic solution. This means that the art helps to dampen and absorb any sound created in the room.
They have a range of designs with something to fit any summer decor theme.
Bring in Summer Shades

If you want to redecorate completely but aren’t sure what colours to go with, then how about taking summer as inspiration for your choices? Think of yellows, blues and greens that, when brought into the home, can bring about a real sunshine feel.
If you don’t want to go as far as completely redecorating, then you can also add them in using small or large accessories.
Summer Textiles
When it comes to the summer months, switching out those thick fabrics from the winter to more light options such as linen and cotton can really work well.
These are a much more summer-friendly option that can still offer some warmth when the cooler nights set in and you need to cover up with a throw.
Flowers and Plants

I love having plants and flowers in the house all year round. However, with the bright and colourful flowers that bloom during summer, it can really bring that summer decor feel to your home.
If you would rather not bring cut flowers into your home, then potted plants, which will bloom and grow for years to come, are the perfect alternative. I personally have some lovely ones on windowsills that always make me smile when I see them flower.
So there you have just a few summer decor ideas. I hope it gives you some things to think about.
I would love to know what your favourite way to bring summer into the home is.

There’s nothing like having flowers in a room is there, really brightens the place up.
Good ideas! Room decor does get stale after a while. Not everyone has the funds or energy to change all of it so just changing the finishing touches is the best way to freshen up the rooms. Changing wall art is my favourite way to start.
It really does, doesn’t it – I feel like changing a bit of decor can make all the difference to how a room looks at feels.
Great ideas here, I hadn’t really thought about different decor for the Summer, but it does make sense, changing my dark curtains in the lounge would be a good start
Sounds like the perfect place to start if you want to do something different!
I like the idea of summer textiles as it is cheap and effective!
Definitely and they are so much lighter and brighter in some ways as well.

I am with you there, I love bringing in plants and flowers, it always cheers me up to see them around the home.
I was feeling daunted by the catch up in decorating needed after lock-downs but may be incremental changes would be a better way forward.
Definitely do things slowly and it makes all the difference, start with a corner not a full room!
Such great ideas, I’d really love to brighten my house up this summer
There is something wonderful about having a bright and colourful summer home.
We recently changed our curtains in our living room for a light yellow, and it’s amazing how much it’s brightened up the room!
Cut flowers and pot plants definitely make it feel much more summery too!
Ohh I bet that looks lovely for you! I bet it really did brighten up the room for you.
Love your ideas, we are lucky to have a conservatory at the end of the lounge so we just open the french doors to include the garden in our rooms
Oh I bet that is lovely, I always think conservatories are a bit like being able to let the outdoors inside.
I plan to swap the fluffy throws for a summer alternative. Plus a summery duvet cover.
Ohh a nice summery duvet cover is just such a good idea! I love it!
It is amazing how one yellow piece of decor can really brighten up a room. I also like to set the mood of a room with flowers, definitely more vivid and bolder colours in the summer
It is incredible isn’t it – it really brightens up and can open up the space.
