Four Staples Your Toolbox Needs!
Whether you live on your own or you live with somebody else, you need to have a decent toolbox to be able to get those home DIY jobs done. A well-equipped toolbox is essential, and it’s not just for when you have the urge to grab onto a new project. From hanging pictures to fixing a leaking pipe, even to building Christmas gifts on Christmas morning, you need to have the right tools in your arsenal to make sure that you can get that job done.
Understanding which hammers, wrenches, and even spirit levels you need will help you to be able to build a toolbox that has all the essentials. There are resources and companies such as Scrooz, where you can get the smaller items, but before you can go shopping for anything, you need to know what you should have in the box in the first place. You can always hire tools, but if you want to have a kit of your own then you need to have a look at the list below to see what is essential for your toolkit needs.

Claw Hammer
You need a claw hammer. You don’t just need a regular hammer, you need a claw hammer so that you can use it to drive nails. The claw side of it will help you to take the nails out, too, especially if you put them in the wrong place. A good quality hammer should last you for years and you can complete most projects with accuracy. You also won’t ruin your kitchen equipment trying to use a rolling pin to finish a project!
Screwdrivers
A set of screwdrivers. From the Christmas gifts we mentioned earlier to setting up your new furniture, you will need to have a decent set of screwdrivers including a cross head and flathead screwdriver. Screwdrivers are a must if you’re trying to put new toys or new things together, especially when it comes to furniture. Flathead screws have been around for a long time so you need to make sure you have a screwdriver to match the top of the screw and flatheads need to be a part of your collection. You should also have a range of different sizes.
Tape Measure
A metal tape measure. The metal tape measures that spring back whenever you stretch them out are perfect for your home. No matter what project you’re working on, it’s likely you’re going to need a tape measure to help you to align where your screws should go, or measure a cabinet you are building, or even measure the space for your furniture. You can find plenty of great tape measures at tool stores.
Electric Drill
Screwdrivers are great, but you really need an electric drill to be able to help you to drill things into your walls, and then drill screws into the spaces. A cordless electric drill is essential, and it trumps the standard drill because it reduces all safety concerns. You’re not going to drill through any long dangling cords by accident, and you can complete your jobs around the house without the weightiness of most of the bigger drill products.
