March 9 – Life in a Lockdown #49
So another week has gone by.
Last Tuesday, Ash and I got the text to book our jab and had it done on Wednesday, I was pretty poorly Wednesday night and didn’t sleep at all until around 8 the next day. Both of us are still feeling it a bit, but it does feel good to have had it done.
Of course, yesterday saw the first changes to England’s lockdown. Children are now back in school and people can now exercise with one other person from outside their home / bubble. On top of that people in care homes can now have one visitor! Which I am sure will be such a relief to many.
All going well we will take the next step later this month.
On With The Linky!
Starting off I must say a huge thank you to Bex from Futures for joining me each week as my co-host and of course Jenni at Lyrical Host (affiliate link) for kickstarting the idea!
If you would like to take part, it’s simple:
We ask that you give both Bex and I a link back in your post, as hosts of the linkup and you can copy the questions below.
After that; all you need to do is pop back to mine or Bex’s post and add your link in the inlinkz.
1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
3) What do you think the coming weeks and months might hold for you (or the world)?
4) If you could remind yourself something about this time in years to come what would it be?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from as mall business.
6) What is a unique (or not) technique you have used to get you through this time?
7) What is something your readers might not know about you?
8) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

So what did week 49 hold:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
I took the step last week to re-refer myself back into the mental health system as I realised I needed to access help of some kind. I have been booked in for a further consultation on Friday so hopefully, something might help.
Right now more than anything I am just pretty exhausted. I have been struggling to sleep since I had the jab more than normal.
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
Of course, we had our jab. We had to go over to Burton to the football stadium and hands up it felt like a bit of an adventure!
I can’t remember the last time I did something “different”. After all, it has now been a year since everything changed.
The budget was an interesting read (I only checked in on some of it via the news online). It is good to know though that self-employment payments are being opened up to more. However, for those who can’t work, it is a long gap until the next one can be claimed.
3) What do you think the coming weeks and months might hold for you (or the world)?
I do worry about the schools reopening. It has seemed like cases rise when children are in school. However, of course, it is a little different this time. Vaccines are being handed out, and children are taking tests twice a week.
So hopefully things won’t get as bad again.
4) If you could remind yourself something about this time in years to come what would it be?
That people did come together, that we made it through and we were able to adapt and carry on in some way.
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.
Nothing this week. I’ve been trying to stay clear of Etsy as much as possible as it always ends up in me buying something.
6) What is a unique (or not) technique you have used to get you through this time?
Curling up and watching a comforting film. The night I couldn’t sleep, I got out of bed at 6 and curled up on the sofa watching G-Force which I haven’t seen in years but love!
7) What is something your readers might not know about you?
Before I started blogging, my creative outlet was both card and jewellery making and I loved it!
Sadly when my heads stopped working as they should I had to give it up, it is something I definitely miss, along with writing to penfriends.
8) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
Being able to have the COVID vaccine (or at least that is what I keep trying to tell myself).

These jabs affect people in different ways. Some are affected by the first or second jab others not at all. Interesting that you struggled to sleep as I slept heavily after mine.
I’ve had a lot of people say to me oh I slept so well after, yet I couldn’t sleep at all – it’s crazy the difference. Definitely isn’t a usual run of them.
Not at all, I hear that the second jab can produce a totally different reaction.
Hopefully, it won’t feel quite so bad!
@Lifeinabreakdown I am hopeful
I am grateful for my children im lucky to have 4 healthy , happy children
I’m feeling a bit more positive now that more and more people are getting their vaccinations. I’m an unpaid carer for my son so I’m hoping my invite won’t be long.
Hopefully you get your invite soon – Ash’s came via the NHS letter for being a carer 🙂
Wow. Nearly 52 weeks. Who could have imagined it would go on this long?
It is crazy isn’t it – it’s actually been over a year as we started this a little late!
Sorry to hear your unwell from your vaccine, Well done for reaching out and asking for support, I hope it helps 🙂
Thank you – the vaccine has been a nightmare but hopefully worth it in the long run.
Like you, also had my COVID vaccination this week. Knocked me for six banging headache, heavy limbs and general flu symptoms. Glad I had it though and looking forward to 2021 getting back to normal once everyone gets it! Take care of yourself!
It is interesting how differently it affects different people! I’ve heard it is meant to be a good thing as it means its working though!
